Hi all,
Been looking at American Sport Bike web site and was wondering what the real world benefits are to getting your exhaust header coated. Can't decide between black or silver but first would really like to know is it worth the time.

Second question is seats. I traded my SX seat for a SL seat and like it for the lower seating position but could still use a little more cushion for longer rides. Is the Corbin better for the comfort end of it? What about the others?

Thanks all & love the new bikes. My GF will for sure be riding a Buell next spring.

Wildman,

1) no blueing
2) less radiant heat if stuck in traffic
3) slight performance enhancement due to the cooler air flow (or something like that) I am sure someone else will chime in and give you the "tech" terms

Black no, it may even make the heat worse. If you want to coat, go with the silver.

Some love the Corbin seats, some don't. I sat on one and liked it lots. They are firmer, but more ergonomically correct.

heat from the pipe is no worse than stock,it looks killer, and i never have to polish it. just a quick wipe down with some detail spray and it is as good as new.

p.s. just about 11k miles with the pipe coated.

--edit--

and Al from american sport bike is top notch and first rate to deal with. i would highly recomend him.

Lonexb

Regarding the seats, I went to the low seat also, then the Corbin. The low is indeed a little bit lower, but the feel of the Corbin is much better, especially if you expect to have some extended seat time. I also like the way the Corbin holds me in placed when I am in the twisties. I only have a 29 inch inseam, and the Corbin seems to be working good for me.
