Hi all,
Can I get some input on what trans oil is popular out there. I've been just using the sportster trans oil. Any thoughts on Mobil one and what weight is best to use.

Tried both Amsoil just plain lasts longer.
EVERY time I changed the Mobil1 it was all creamy looking like water in it or something but the Amsoil has held up through 6000 miles and looks like I just put it in.

Mobil1 75W90 gear oil in mine.

If you put a 2X4 or so under the kick stand to level the bike while draining (be careful if it's a windy day) you can fill it with one full quart and be right on the money. The trans seems to be pretty picky about oil level...

I feel like I'm the only guy that uses Redline oil. I use Redline 20W-50 in the trans and engine. I works great!

I know everyone is going to freak out about this, but believe me I'v had no problems since I changed my gear oil. Nice smooth shifts too, and its not foaming up either. I used Lucas gear oil 75W90. No problems here, 4000km later.

We just did this in another thread right?

I scared some I think by stating I'd recently swopped to Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) in my S1W.

I don't think you can say anything bad about Amsoil
If you can find it.I was also stumped on wt. so you all helped me out good.

I tried Mobil 1 15/50 in the trans. It worked alright except finding neutral became a pain. Switched it back to Mobil 1 75/90 shifting and neutral because way better again.

Hard to see how you can go wrong with Amsoil or Mobil 75-90. I have used the Mobil since 200 miles on the bike.

Great stuff.
