I should’ve know as soon as I stopped between them at the red light I’d turned a two-way drag into a threesome. Mr Audi eyeballs the Buell while Mr BMW creeps forward ever-so-slow-ly to get a better look. I watch the adjacent amber, waiting for the moment to select 1st. It comes soon enough and I hear the revs rise on my left and on my right. In a second they’ve both gone on amber while I wait for green. I gun it and have a wheel in front before we’ve crossed the intersection. I short-shift into 2nd and wind it WFO. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet ! Have you hammered your XB in the lower gears this week ? The whole world is going backwards and I’m outta there ! Woo-hoo ! Third sees double the speed limit so I ease off and cruise across the next junction as the lights change.

Sure livens up the morning commute !

Nice. Cars are funny. I took a new Vette on one wheel the other day. His wife was pissing her pants.

I get this all the time on my way to work. I ride thru a somewhat wealthy area of Brookfield, WI. So I've had Vipers, Vettes, BMWs, etc... Haven't lost a drag race yet : )

Back in March, I had a Viper coupe start reving his engine at a light 2 blocks from my house. For cripes sake, the temp was only 6F out!! With Dunlop 207s? I don't think so : )

I'm always amazed when "cagers" think they can outrun a bike.

I had a DR650 that I used to drive on the street to and from trails and people would always try to outrun me at the lights. I don't know if it was the knobby tires that made them think it was slow or what, but it must have really pissed them off to see me passing them with the front wheel 3 feet off the ground!

Compared to the Buell though it was a turtle!

Yes! Even my old KLR250 would waste just about any cage out there.
Ahhh back when I weighed 120 pounds.

Why is it you get the good cars and I get all the high school kids in Civics? Man... There was one day when I was coming home from Wal Mart and I saw a Lambergini (sp?). Only one I've ever seen in the area. Sadly, I was in my Ranger 4 banger pickup. I'm not about to challenge him.

Going out of Mt. Airy, NC toward the Blue Ridge Parkway I was following a quad-cab pickup up the mountain (double lane going up) and he just took off. He was using both lanes to apex every curve and was waaaaay over his head. I caught him (staying in one lane the whole time) and just hung back...didn't pass 'cause the some beach was driving crazy.

Cagers...

I recently had the pleasure of a tasty new with tags PORSCHE Carerra from a stop light. And a newer Ford Lightening whom jump over into my lane in front of me. It seemed his ego deflated and he slowed as I passed and offered the peace sign.

i usually just pass on these hilarious offers by cars. I know what its like to have your pride shiked on so i don;t bother doing it to them unless it is a necessary event like getting on the freeway or avoiding traffic.

I don't challenge them. They challenge me. I just can't pass that up.

Now that I'm an "adult", I will usually tease them into going as fast as they can.
THEN I nail it.

I rev back, then when they scream away from the light, I leave the light at a nice leisurely pace.

It's great to do that and watch the cop go after the kid. Had that happen one night. I was laughing my @$$ off as I went by.

Had a guy in a new Dodge Magnum do that. He was too focused on me to see the motorcycle officer directly behind him. When he left the light in a haze of tire smoke I putted away and passed him a quarter mile later while he was getting a ticket.
