While installing my PCIII a few weeks back I noticed a small fitting on the intake manifold that LOOKED a lot like a little vacuum tube fitting. It was capped with a little rubber cap...

If I wanted to switch over to a different injection/spark system (MS + Crane HI-4E) could this be used for a MAP input?

NO NO NO!!!

That fitting is for the emissions rebreather canister on pollution controlled bike. I know, as I too looked into it when interest in Mega Squirting my bike along with my VW came about. The problem is the fitting actually puts the port ABOVE the throttle plate, thus it would only measure atmospheric pressure, not vacuum like it should/would want it to.

If you are going to do it, remove the manifold and drill/tap a fitting into the intake manifold about 2 inches straight down from there on the opposite side, thread in a 90 degree brass fitting, and walla, MAP "signal" port!!

Any other questions about aftermarket EFI I can help with, let me know

Bruce

Would be nice to hook up a MAP or MAF. Would help make fuel mapping more accurate.
