Hello, I just purchased my first buell and love it. I have had it for two weeks and already have 1934 miles on it. The only complaint so far is the seat. I have a question though. I' am looking for a new exhuast. one that is louder but does not require the performance chip. Does any one have a suggestion?

The only one that I can think of that I don't hear much about the chip helping it is the Jardine, which is also one of the most affordable. You might search the archives.

Jones, I ?think? Nasty is right. Has anyone put a Jardine on a 12 without an ECM? I've been wondering about this myself.

The ECM pretty much helps all pipes. The PCIII even more : ).

I'd go for a Drummer.

Hi jones
I have a XB12s I first bought the muffler "latus"
It sounds great, not as load as the D&D
I live at the 3,000 ft. level and in the morning
it would sputter a bit. And had a little bit of a pop down shifting. Just a little on the lean side.
i just bought the racing ECU and K&N open box type
air filter. No sputter and no pop anymore.
And did wake the bike up alot.
You will have to reset the TPS.

well i took my baby in to get a fresh oil change and a once over. While there i started talking to the mechanic and he told me the best deal out there is the OEM race kit, because it comes with every thing i need for under $600.00 dollars. What do you think? What I really looking for is a pipe that is loud enough to over come the engine noise a buell makes.

Jonesjd - I have a 12S also. One of the first things I did after break-in miles was to install the Buell Race Kit. Bike runs better and sounds great.

got a sound file on the Special OPS?
no I don't...but Odie does and I don't think he would mind sharing.

how load is the special ops pipe?
It is louder than most...but not obnoxious.
It has a raw note that makes the engine sound mean.

Guys- still working on converting my soundclip so I can post to my website (hopefully tomorrow). For now you can go to Stone Mountain HD/B's thread on the sponsor page. Click on the "Looking for info on Special O.P.S." thread. Go into the archives and there is a soundclip posted. Thanks, Odie

The Drummer is your best bet for a deep sound, good looks and power increases throughout the entire RPM range. Check out www.kdfab.com. The "Exhaust Systems" page plays a sound clip of the Drummer.

off topic, but the "new" kdfab.com looks great, worlds better than before!

I diddn't get any sound when I was on the exhaust page for 2 or 3 minutes. Maybe it just hadn't finish loading?

400.00 bucks to gut your pipe, I couldn't wait to throw that over weight pile across the room.
