Well Finally!! I've been visiting this board for a year and now I finally own a Buell!! I will be picking it up at Downtown Harley-Davidson/Buell in Tuckwilla, WA, 170 miles away, tomorrow. I went for the Demo rides on Saturday and rode every model of Buell there: Blast, XB9sx, XB9r, XB12s, and XB12r. I think they though I was crazy (well, there's that) since I was there for 2 hrs, and also since I rode in with a '04 GSXR1000 Limited loaded with camping gear (coming back from a EAA event). Why a Buell? I told everyone there probably several times over that it was the most fun on a motorcycle I've ever had. Everyone was just super and Steve Swap (yes, that's his last name) was there to answer any question. He was a salesman who owned a Buell XB12s and loved to talk Buells! They also had free meatball sandwiches being served by a couple of great looking eye-candy with Buell tank tops on , but I digress. I ended up deciding on a XB9sx, and since they were out of brand new ones, I got a '05 with 650 miles on it that someone had traded back in for a very good price out the door. The whole experience was first-rate! It was nice to run into a very Buell-supportive dealership that was willing to offer realist prices on their bikes. The two dealers in the greater Portland, OR area (my home base) don't compare as well. Latus on the east side, just doesn't seem that Buell-friendly, although thats where I had my first Buell ride on a '04 XB12s with race kit, that I couldn't stop grinning about for a week. They didn't want a realistic price and as time goes by, and seem to have there Buell bikes back in a small corner (down to one Blast last time I looked) and no Buell gear that I've seen. The other dealer, Paradise H-D/Buell is quite a bit better, with the Buells out front and a bit of gear inside. I rode a XB9sx and XB12r there, and they were very nice, but the pricing seem a little unrealistic. A very nice dealer though, and I will probably go there for service (unless they give me the run-around like some of the dealers mentioned on the web). However, neither compares to the Downtown H-D/Buell in Tuckwilla. I think they are the closest to Dave S that I can find locally.

Just for general info, I've owned Suzukis since I started riding in '74, with a 21 yr hiatus from riding until last year. I purchased a '04 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom-A great commuter bike that I've put over 14,000 miles on in the last 14 months. Then after riding a friend's 1000cc Honda SuperHawk, I got the wood for a liter-bike, so I ended up getting a Suzuki GSXR1000 limited for a very good price! That bike is so fast it folds space! Now I've got the City X, which just makes me smile after I ride it! I will not sell the others, as each is a great bike for different reasons, but I LOVE the Buell!!!

Sorry to be so long-winded, but I'm just so glad to have finally arrived!

Glad to see you back and welcome to the City X owners club. I have 11700 miles on my City X now and have owned it since Nov. 9, 2004.

Actually, 21 years from owning my own bike. I got my first bike (Suzuki GT380) in '74, and my second bike(Suzuki GS750)in '80. Sold the last bike in '83 to learn to fly. I don't think I could wait 32 yrs! I got back into it Last May with a vengeance! Thanks guys for the welcome!

Congratulations on your new toy and for finding Downtown Harley/Buell in Tukwila (no "c", south of Seattle). Owner Russ is a great guy who has worked hard to expand the Buell portion of the shop.

I was the first buyer of the Blast there in '00 and traded up for the XB9S in late '02.

Ooops! You're right, my bad. Of course, I still misspell Tanasborne, the area I live in on the west side of Portland!
