An American 1-2 at Laguna: Congratulations on a great result for the sport. Good to see Nicky giving his Dad the lap of honour. Although the european Director didn't show it, all the uk commentators were offering to pay the inevitable fine!

Hayden was absolutely flawless both days, so happy for him. great to see Edwards edge out Rossi too! excellent racing. Bostrom was flawless as well in Superbike, pulled a sweet lead on Mladin.

I don't care who you typically root for, you had to feel good for the Kentucky Kid.

I hope this is just the beginning for him.

i agree nicky was perfect .. qualifying runs bear this out .. i think vale was holding back for political & friendship reasons .. afterall, neither is a threat to his dominance right now & u cld see that nicky was appreciative when he grabbed vale for a hug & kiss in the winners circle.

s'all good .. i have been a big fan of colin since superbikes & who can resist a kentucky boy doing good?! : )

As far as racing goes, both seemed more like a parade lap than anything else. For the last half of each, it was more about waiting for a possible mistake or mech failure than about passing strategies. I wondered if the Michelin teams were having issues.

Having stated that, I have to say that there's no sight in 2-wheeled racing that's any better than the front group hitting the top of the Corkscrew, going left/right one after another. It was great to see Nicky and Colin grinning so big again- has either of them had this big a day since leaving their RC51s behind?

And the Yamaha team's paint scheme was another memory to enjoy- I'm old enough to remember when the TZ750 was winning everything.
