Your bike will get 60 miles to the gallon???Your full of it.As far mileage is concerned...Piped doesn't really effect it at all.The bike is breathing.

stock bikes get the best miles per gallon.
thats not opinion thats fact...

and i will BET ANYONE with a
drummer pipe to get that mileage.

and engine/pipes breathing more DO use more fuel !

and they call me stupid?

the sun still converting 4.4 million tons of

Like I said, come and do it for one hour pay per Drummer and I'll pay you 100 dollars an hour, kinda like making velocity stacks isn't it????? The building and the tools and the materials don't cost anything I know, all that's for free, your house , car food all that's for free....it doesn't cost much to have a business, that's why nobody works for anybody else...everyone owns their own business for free...it's all just free...how about a few free parts from where you live, send me the materials and pay my payments and I'll make the drummers for free...

Don't have a Drummer anylonger have a D&D and its still giving me the same mileage.Your bike by the way will not do 60 miles to the gallon and thats fact.Infact I have Erik Buell video taped when the 12 was just about ready for release stating the mileage at 50.And most of us are hard pressed to get that unless we are pampering the bike considerably.But then again I'd sacrifice some mileage for some HP and TQ.If I wanted mileage I'd buy a Vespa.Or a tour bike that holds more gas.

wow -- where's my popcorn? ;-}

hey, onebuell, do youy like getting paid for your work? I know I do . . . . I've got no problem with someone making a profit, but that's just me (and I have a feeling that the DrummerBoyz ain't getting rich by any matter of means) -- anyways, if you like giving away your labor, I've got a garage that needs scarping and painting this summer -- heck, I'll even feed ya while yer on the job!

I'm amazed that anyone still clings to the old saw about loud pipes saving lives -- sheesh, if ya want loud, go on a head, and be prepared to pay the frieght (for all of us), but that line of thinkin is closely linked to "I'm not wearing a helmet cuz it's unsafe" --

like that idiot in the toyota can hear you over his $39 sewerpipe exhaust, of the soccor mom can hear your pipethrough the closed windows w/AC blasting, or the wanna be ghetto guy inthe gangsta slump can hear you over his bassline . . .

Don't we have mods to handle people like this?

Engines/pipes breathing more efficiently DO burn less fuel.

I haven't seen 60mpg out of my bike, but that has more to do with riding style than it does with the pipe. However, my average mileage has not dropped and I have seen my highest mileage ever while equipped with the Drummer.

Trustworthy people spent a lot of time developing and testing the Drummer. I know that it works because I have witnessed the dyno runs and seen the dyno charts myself. It is far more than a "gutted stock pipe". It takes much more than one hour to make one. What purpose do you serve for bashing a product that you know nothing about? What do you stand to gain by spreading this false information?

Aren't you the same guy who said that Buell should knock $1k off their prices because you could buy the bikes cheaper used from a private seller than you could new from a dealer? yes

Aren't you the same guy who said that Buell should give Hanses25 and his friends new bikes because they rode ~3600 miles? yes

What's up with your hostility? It seems like every post of yours I read is negative towards either Buell as a company or some Buell product. What gives?

*edit- added quote to clarify who I was referring to}

Jeez boys, this is exactly what I didn't want to happen with this thread.

If it makes any difference whatsoever...I bought and installed a used D&D from a badwebber last night.

Even though I didn't purchase the Drummer, I am sure that they are a quality product. I simply wasn't able to ship my stock can off as my CityX is my only ride. I had considered paying extra up front and after receipt and install shipping the stock one to Kevin for the core rebate.

It is impossible for those who do not run the day to day operations of a business (any business)to have any idea as to the headaches, employee attrition, overhead, materials, tools, etc. that comes with the territory.

Not everyone on this Board is a mechanic, nor do we all have sufficient time to spend breaking down our bikes and putting them back together again. This, in my humble opinion, is one of the beauties of America. Our free market economy allows those who, by virtue of hard work and dedication (Kevin) have the ability to supply their customers (us) with products that we demand.

ECON 101 aside...thanks to everyone who offered their opinions both on and off the board. And to all of the sponsors--KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

-Dan

with your drummer pipes or something?

i aint seen but one drummer in my area
and i aint impressed.

badweather sponsor or not.

im not bowing to no one. buying something
from no one that i dont think is worth it.

for what?

i know where i can get a race can for 150 sheckels.

but then I would be like all you professional
race guys who know everything about buells
and nothing of how little power u getting.

every machine is different.

just because one guy has a drummer and the
other has a bummer pipe does the drummer
knock or call names (like we are here)
and act badder. you guys aint no 81 riders!

81 dont ride buells ! at least i aint seen

Bomber, loud pipes work for me. YMMV though. I can recount about a dozen incidents were I've been able to get someone's attention by revving, just before they entered my space. I'd also like to recommend a MSF approved advanced riding class - such as Rider's Edge, and wearing all of your gear, whenever you ride.

Bad -- nah, tried that, didn't like it much ;-}

Joele -- you could be right, but I maintain the line is tired, poorly supported with widesrpead facts, and does us, as a group, more harm than good -- glad you kept the silly people outa your lap, though ;-}

One -- the good news is that you don't have to buy what you don't want -- seems odd you've gotta slag others for their decisions, though -- btw the garage is still waiting

"Jeez boys, this is exactly what I didn't want to happen with this thread."

Sorry about the direction it turned when "Warren G. Buell" showed up. This seems to be his goal. Not that I care though, it's fun to watch people refuse to capitalize the first letter in 90% of their sentences AND assume that anyone will decide they have an IQ over 60...

In any case... Have fun with the D&D : ).

I have a machine stuffed and welded in about ten minutes race muffler for sale if you are interested....$300 US sheckels made by Buell factory, if their stock pipe is so good why would they offer a race can ????? Oh well, back to painting the garage...

Oh, OneBuell, your comment about how modifying intake or exhaust ALWAYS decreases fuel economy is complete horsesh*t. My Silverado averages 3 mpg more since I added a cat-back exhaust system and a cold air intake. Why? Because they are more efficient. Now if I added a huge custom full exhaust system that provided me with the absolute highest peak horsepower and stuck a big K&N cone filter right on the mouth of the throttle body, then sure, the truck would lose some gas mileage.

Maybe you should check your information.

Where's that ringing coming from anyway?

I like the rumble of a loud pipe. I really like being able to hear my engine going thru the power band a lot better.

Lots of good arguing being done here. Sort of fun.
