Ok,

So I finally got a boatload of work done on the ol CityX. I got my new mirrors, tail section, tail eliminator, custom seat, airscoop. I still need to get my frame pucks and install my fork sliders.
In the process, I somehow lost my instrument cluster and my rear Red tail lamp wont light when in park or in the on positions. The brake light and turn signals all work. I believe this is a grounding problem somewhere. Ive checked a bit myself and come up goose eggs. Does anyone have any clues as to where to look?
Thanks
here she is so far

if the brake light works and the parking light doesnt then it sounds like you forgot to hook it back up, because they both share the same ground wire.there should be 3 wires from the tail light. brake, park, and ground. if they are all hooked up. make sure your dash lights come on. if not it could be a fuse. if they do then you might have a blown bulb or a bad wire.

I know that this doesn't help your problem, but your bike looks Great! I really like the custom seat and the mirrors. I've been looking at those same mirrors on the Trojan Horse site. Do you have another pic of your bike from a different angle? It would be great to see those mirrors from the side view.
Thanks,
-Brad

Brad,
I made a typo and posted the airbox twice. I fixed it. The second pic from the top is a nice side shot now. I found a paint that was a pretty darn close match to the side supports on the rear tail section. I was originally thinking about Black, but then thought, I can go to black if I dont like this very easily.

I have all 3 wires hooked up on the tail light and went through all the fuses. My Dash lights are not coming on as well which is what makes me think it is most likely a ground somewhere. Maybe I'll disconnect and reconnect both battery terminals as a start. That can cause weird things.
Is there a fuse that controls the instrument cluster?

swap the wires

you have 1 ground

you have 1 tail light

you have 1 brake light

swap the brake and tail

just a suggestion

i could be wrong

but i always ask "what was the last thing changed ??"

the tail section??

look at how you did it

I swear that my problem is just the bulb and nothing more. The Accessory fuse had blown so I replaced it.

I love these mirrors. Once you get them set, the do not move. I was constantly correcting the stock ones, didnt like the lollipop look and the visibility was tough to dial in. These have a slightly shorter view but the left to right is a little wider. So for me, I could not be happier and they look trick.

The seat comes as unpainted fiberglas and is £260.00
The deluxe seat pad is extra for £140.00
Those prices have some tax that does not apply to US orders so I believe Matt said you run the standard currency conversion and then subtract some number.
It aint cheap, but I sure feel it was money well spent. I FINALLY got to test ride it and it is really nice. THe seat is narrow so shifting your body is very easy. I think the airscoop does help. The bike barely had the fan on after I was done.

Eiff, sorry for another question, but do those mirrors just screw into the stock setup. I've seen other aftermarket mirrors, but I want some that use the stock seats.

Elff,

I'd have to agree that it was money well spent. I love that tail! I've never been a big fan of the Lightnings, but with that tail suddenly I have taken a liking to your Lightning.

Looks great,

Thanks everyone.

These mirrors attach exactly the same way the stock ones do
You screw them into place, and then you use a lock nut to hold them where you want to. I have not needed to adjust them since I got them in the proper location.

O yea, the test drive got the rear light working.
??????
I guess the bike was telling me to stop wrenching and to start riding.

I placed my order on June 15th and the parts arrived yesterday.
That is pretty impressive for an international order.

I'll say.It looks really good.I think you made the right choice on colors. One more question though.Did it fit well when you put it on or did you have to work on it some to make it fit???

Dang
Sorry I missed that question
I was absolutely amazed that it fit perfect. I was expecting to have to work it a bit but it is dead on. It attaches via the top allen bolts that hold the tail section on and then via a third that falls just behind the seat latch. You have to drill a single hole under the seat for that and then tighten it down until it is flush.
