After getting a roofing nail in my stock Dunlop rear tire, and trying unsuccessfully to plug it, I got two Pirelli Scorpion Syncs. You guys weren't kidding about it changing the handling of the bike. I haven't pressed it since the tires are new, but it definitely turns in much quicker and doesn't stand up in corners when braking. I can't wait to get 'em scuffed in.

Thanks,
Bill

I've been saving my pennies so I'll have enough to get a set of those when my Dunlops wear out. If you would, update this post after you get em scrubed in and hit the twisties.

Just ask any 9SX rider what they think of the Syncs...The general thought seems to be stock replacement...how often do you hear that about any brand of tire and a sportbike?

I for one am very impressed with the Syncs. I've got about 3k on them and they have tons of tread life left. My CityX is by far the best handling bike I had ever owned and a lions share of that can be credited to the pirellis. I highly recommend replacing the dunlops...

I dont have much to compare them to except the stockers on my blast but I no complaints. Have 1100 mi. on my CityX and they almost look new. Still have some of that little horizontal frill on them. I love em.

Wonder how that would do on a XB12S? Anyone know?

I love that shot Craig. Buell oughta put it on the website as an add for the frame sliders.

The fact that the tank bag is still on there is icing on the cake, it gives it a kinda "I ride like this to get groceries also" attitude.

Highly recommended.

That is a great pic.

I've got quite a bit of tread on each side to get scuffed in, but I can already see it is like riding a different motorcycle (compared to the stock Dunlops). The tendency to stand up in corners under braking is gone; the bike turns in quicker (I'm running off on the inside of corners) and stays leaned over with less input to the handlebar. Left/right transitions are quicker. Overall, the bike just feels lighter.

The Syncs look tough, too.

I also took the opportunity to clip an inch or two from my upper belt guard, while I had the back wheel off.

Good luck,
Bill

The Syncs are great but I have had 2 punctures in the first 1K miles. Bad luck or what?

Had the Scorps on my S3T for about 3100 miles now. I bet I get at least 5-6K out of the back. They make a big difference on the older bikes too VS Dunlops.

Phantom,

It's not my truck...it is one of our company vehicles that the survey crew takes to a surface mine. It's on 05 Colorado that is about 2 weeks old...they lead a rough life.

I love em. One thing that I didnt see mentioned is their performance in the rain. They hold very well in wet conditions too.
