Hey guys,
And Gals,:-)Just wondering one of ya out there can help me on this, I Use reading glasses, got a dozen or so pairs all over the house and shop, And for the life of me when I go to set the TFI I got to find a pair of my eyes where ever I laid them at, and Try to change my settings on the tfi, OFF is even then I got to use a Bloody Magnify Glass the ones with the reg.+ strength and then there is another ( about the size of a dime)which I guess wd. be the same as having Bi Focals ya know glass about a Inch THICk, Anyways, To the Point, Damn HArd still to read those small marks,/scale CRAP for a better word, WWWWHY do they have to make the markings SO DAMN SMALL, CRap back to the point , The scale is TWo large DOTS at the top starting point and finished point with nine slashes in between right? on approx: slash 4 there is a 1, slash 5 a 2, slash 6 a 3, lets Say IF I want to set pot #1 to a setting of 4, I just count them DAMN slashes to slash 4, or wd. I go to the slash 6 that has the 3 by it and go 1 slash from there???? I`m thinking its count the slashes 1 to 9 and forget about the numbers that are there 1,2,3. Correct??? And If to say on pot 4 I want to set that to 8 just count the Damn slashes to # 8, Sorry all Just an old timer having a hard time to See Thanks in advance..

Yo Hogs!

They work like a clock.

1 o'clock is the first slash clockwise (closed).
2 o'clock is the second slash clockwise ...

etc.

So 6 o'clock would be straight down (sixth position).

I don't remember having numbers next to the slashes, I think you better ignore them and use the "Universal Clock Scale", if you know what I mean ; )

Hogs - I laughed my off when I read your post because I had the exact same experience. I have at least a dozen Wal-Mart glasses spread all over my world & I still can't ever find 'em when I need 'em. The clock thing doesn't work that great for me either. I sold my TFI anyway.....

I'm still waitin' for a programmable ECM from Buell.

LoL Thanks guys,YEah Ingemar I`ll go with the clock dial and forget about them numbers then...So I wd say the two dots one at the beginning and the other at the end of the scale are dot 1 at the beginning = OFF , and the other dot at the end = OFF or position 10?? and then count them slashes ( nine in total )in between as they are... Straight down for me wd. be position 5 though Hmm I hope mine is not marked off wrong here...??? anyone else have a scale like mine ,Tune IN ??

Went on a poker run yesterday 34 degs.( approx: 90 degs Plus ) here it was a hot one, settings 3.5 = pot 1, 7.5 = pot 4, pots 2 & 3 left on the starting dot which I believe to be OFF ? Lots Of pinging happening had to make sure I kept my Revs up around plus 3800 rpms or more, don`t think that hurts her Stops the pinging, But sure makes my Baby drink her fluids .. Shes a HOG on GAS.! ( anyone with ideals on better settings for the TFI I`ll give it some thought, before I take the Sucker out for the pinging plms., however I don``t think any will help, But I`ll try to keep an open mind ! )

Hogs, try idling along at something less than 5 mph, stand up & punch it while you pull back. I bet it will come right up for you. I was practicing it a bit yesterday & I came down really hard one time and snapped a footpeg off. I think I must have cracked that peg last year when I low sided & just never knew it. I was amazed when the dealer actually had one in stock.

Jerseyguy,
Hmmm whats the advantage of standing up I wonder, Still being in first and all, will still have to either shift or get off the fuel, Sitting down normal and If I hit it,It comes up and right over if I don`t control it and no need to pull up or nothing, Maybe I`m missing your point of standing up? LoL

Hogs - Ya gotta hang yer fat arse back and pull up to wheelie from a near standstill. Otherwise ya gotta pop the clutch or back off & then hit it.
