Yeah I've always had great results with Mother's aluminum polish...I don't see how it could be that much different than the Eagle One stuff. It's the same kind of creme/paste type stuff that you apply. I think the Mother's is a little easier to find as well. We did the 600 grit sandpaper strips to our headers to get them clean and then used the polish and they look better than brand new. I've never seen them so clean and polished, they're not really tan colored? You'll be amazed...Just my .02 |

The Mother's worked really well...a few words of caution though, make sure to avoid getting any on parts other than the headers and to remove all residue after polishing with a soft cloth. It is really difficult to remove the pasty stuff from plastic, etc. once it's dry. |

Try "Blue Magic" available at your nearest wallymart. Been using it for 8+ years on all stainless and aluminum. Best I've used, and I've used 'em all (including those chatted about above). |

The nice thing about Blue Magic is that it is totally mild - no abbrasives, and has anti-oxidizers in it (silicon?) to act as a protectant.
Try it, you'll love it! |

I know, I know...jet hot would be nice. But I really don't feel like rotating my motor just to get the headers off, and then paying $150 bucks for the coating. I guess for the budget minded, this is the next best thing. Total investment:
less than 10 bucks and your time |

I did it a couple of times its just alot of maintence and it fades fast |

If you get some paste on other things then use wd-40 on it. It will come off easy. |

I used Mother's and an abrasive S.O.S. type pad for over an hour. It looked nice, but I then ordered Eagle One and went back over it. No comparison. I did in five minutes with Eagle One what took me over an hour with Mother's, and it looked much nicer. I am sold on the Eagle One. Also, I only used a paper towel with the Eagle One to apply and it was much easier with a better result. Just my two cents. |
