I have seen many threads on TPS questions but a search did not bring up info on someone having to REPLACE their TPS.

The dealer says the TPS is defective and has ordered a new one.

According to the Service manager it won't stay reset and a quote "wiggle test" sends its readings all over the place.
Needless to say the bike was running like crap before they brought it in (it had been in a week prior for the 10k service where new plugs were installed and designated as responsible for stuttering/hesitation).....

I'm wondering if this has been a problem/solution for someone else or an unheard of thing for the TPS to need replacing?
Could it be due to exposed wires shorting out?

All input is appreciated
