does the factory racekit ecm smooth out the abruptness of the rev limiter on the xb12r &/or increse it any significant amt?

re: the racekit in general .. all data i can find shows a very LITTLE increase in power & that inc.s all the other kits.

i am thinking its not worth the $$ & work to get so little increase, short of shelling out for a literbike.

anything to change my assumptions guys? : )

thanks, paul.

The race kit will boost your power marginally, the big benefit is allowing the engine to breathe more efficiently. Better throttle response, faster revving, things of that nature.

If you're happy with what your bike is putting out, do not change it. If you want better response from your throttle, the race kit will absolutely help. If you're looking for big HP gains, you must increase displacement. Increasing displacement will go hand in hand with the race kit, but you may loose lower end grunt, depending on how far you go. Just be careful what you wish for : )

It does not raise the Rev limit , for good reason. The long stroke of the motor , has very high piston speeds. You do not want it to rev any higher or it won't last long. As far as the abruptness of the rev limiter.
Just shift before redline.
