I just got one of those rolling MC/ATV jacks with the the two rubber coated lift platforms at Pep Boys for $53.

I thought at that price I should let everyone know.

Cool!
I was eyeing a craftsman jack the other day. It was just shy of $100 & it really is the same thing. There's a Pep Boys about 30-35 miles from me I think I'll take a look over there next weekend. Eventually I want to get Pitbull stands but the jack will be a good affordable solution till then.

Thanks Spatten1.

Does the XB frame work with this jack?

As far as I know all motorcycle/atv jacks are the same dimensions. At least the ones I've seen. So you just line the jacking platforms of the jack with the jacking points of the XB's muffler. Just make sure you strap the bike down. Some here have made cradles out of wood or other materials that they place between the jack & muffler for a more secure fit.

I have one of those jacks (not the exact brand) and have found NOTHING that will fit between the muffler and jack to aid in the stability. It already rubs the muffler when I'm getting it positioned. Guess I need another jack!?!

Does anyone know if it's possible to lift an XBs with a race muffler with one of these jacks?

Kowpow225, Is the jack's release valve screwed out all the way?

Maybe ride the bike onto some wood blocks like some 12x4s to get a little more clearance. Just make sure you have a third block for the kick stand.

Steve,
the race muffler has the same jacking points as the stock muffler.

Those jacks work great. Damned Chinese can make them for less than I could get it painted.

I've used a Craftsman under my XB without the clever Jersyguy-like brackets. You can strap it down into stability. The Pit Bull rear stand is a lot less complicated and about $20 more. The Craftsman works for my Sporty.

Good call Odie.

I just copied your design tonight, the only change I made was to make the wood triangles seperate, and space them about 2 1/4" apart, letting the muffler sit lower. It was still necessary to run the bike up on 2x6's to get the jack and adapter under it. My new jack must not get as low as yours.

Thanks for the idea Odie.

Just like the ones I use. Careful, cuz when you remove the rear tire, it gets front heavy...

Don't ask...
