I'm looking for fatter hand grips...Dunno why they keep making bikes with such small diameter grips. I put some fat grips on my Springer and that made a HUGE comfort difference.

It's gotta make a difference with these, especially when your wearing gloves? Yes/no?

Anybody know of fatter grips available for the XB's?

How much fatter are they? One thing I noticed is that they are slip on grips...do they use the original grip control fittings or do they just show two left side grips in the picture? Some of the other grips show an obvious difference and mention the difference for control fittings on the right side. And THOSE look to be the same as HD grips...would HD grips fit?

I had them installed for a while. They are indeed thicker (not sure how much) and do utilize the stock throttle control.

The quality was good. I simply prefer the Buell traction grips. The "gooshy" feel wasn't for me.

Installation is cake. All you need is a razor to cut the old grips off and some hairspray to use as adhesive for the new grips. I know it sounds crazy, but it works like a charm.

HD grips are 1" except the 04 and newer Sportsters, they use a 7/8" bar
Don't know if you could get them to work?

I put these on my SX <http://www.cahills.com/eshopprod_cat_1675-5982-6246_product_156186.JOHAR_SUPERBI KE_GRIPS.htm>
Bigger and much more comfortable. Easy to install. Consider a barsnake too.

I second the Traction grips vote. Simple install (recommend small dab of anti-sieze on throttle grip for any bike) & VERY comfy for long trips. Not bad price wise either.

Dago is right on with the hairspray trick. Used it on every bike I've ever had. Motor or pedal.

I bought some of these in black at a local shop right after getting my XB. The death grip on the throttle was killing my right arm. These would probably get a chuckle at the track, but they are much more comfortable.

I believe a MUST HAVE for xb owners suffering from vibrations. Reduces mirror vibration and hand fatigue.

I second the traction grips- I'm extremely happy for $16. They are humped in the center (1.2" i think) to help with carpal-tunnel and my big ol' meatpaws fit much better. They are also grippy enough that I don't have to death-grip, just laying my palm is enough to keep the throttle open. The only caveat is that they cover the barends so you can't use weights or sliders without trimming.

Can you still use bar ends with the barsnake? I mean if you cut the snake short enough to allow room for barends or barend mirrors does it depreciate the effectiveness of the snake?

as far as the bar snake is concerned, couldn't one just fill the tubes with silicone of their clip on bars to reduce the vibrating numb hands effect?
