Just got my rightside are scoop from trojan yest. Got it all painted up and installed. Visualy it def evens out the look of the bike, and i think it makes it look meaner. On the note of cooling, it def helps with keeping the fan from comming on. Rode around a decent amount after putting it on, some hard riding alone, and some 2up riding, both of which usually make my fan come on in fairly short order, especially with how hot and humid it was yesturday. Well the fan didnt come on once, until i shut the bike off, and even that it kicked down to low speed within 10 seconds. So if you ask me the scoop is well worth the money.

I would love those carbon frame protectors, but with the value of the dollar being so horrible right now, they are just way out of range.

That is really nice looking. I think after I get settled back in CA I'll have to buy one of those for the added cooling. Thanks for posting pics for me Trojan!

Matt,
Does that scoop fit the XB12? I am back to the drawing board on my scoop because I didn't account for the extra diameter of the XB12 header and it's associated clearance issues to the scoop. I have the first prototype on my XB9, it has about 1/4" clearance to the XB9 header, but it only had a gnats butt to the XB12 header that I fit it on. What with the engine moving around but the scoop remaining stationary, I deemed it not enough clearance so I'm retooling. Expensive mistake : (

Have you fit it on an XB12? What clearance exists?

Al

That is really sweet looking. I love how it's shaped at the bottom to clear the headers. Very nice design.

93 degrees heat? that is a couple hundred less than cylinder head temp. air cooling is a lot more efficient than people think. the higher the differential temperature is (delta T) the MORE efficient the heat transfer becomes, meaning a finned cylinder head at say 350 degrees is a more efficient radiator than a liquid cooled bike radiator at lets say 220 degrees. i understand the cops in phoenix (arizona) are still using kawasaki kz1000 air cooled bikes. gets way over a hundred degrees around there.those bikes must be 20 years old now, still standing the heat.

aesthetically, and with respect to symmetry the right side scoop is pretty "cool".

Hi Al,
These scoops fit both the XB9 and XB12 models and achieve the clearance because of the shape of the scoop at the bottom. It is raised to allow clearance for the pipes.

Anybody checked to see if these will fit on a bike with Force headers? I'd love to get one...
