Can the saddlebags be used with a passenger on a firebolt. I know on the lightning they say the bags get in the way of the pegs.

I checked the 9r with bags on our floor. It looks like a very uncomfortable ride for the passenger. The bags sit right over the passenger pegs. The bags wrap around the turn signals so you can't move the bag back.

Are those the new style bags? Would ya mind whipping out the tape measure and share with us how wide they are, from outside to outside, across the top of the bike?

Thanks / sorry!

The new bags are 25inches outside to outside and 28 inches when both bags are expanded.
If you need them I have them.

I have saddlebags from buell (part number 91500-02Y) on my XB12R. I also have the touring seats. My girlfriend rides on the back all the time and there is no difference in comfort with or without them on. They do not get in the way unless your passenger is like 4 feet tall. We just recently went on a 200ish mile ride (about 3 hours) from central Pennsylvania to the east side of New Jersey with the saddle bags on with no problems.
