Bought Michelin Pilot Roads due to my style of riding - 85% commute/15% sport riding (paid $219 shipped from TireExpress.com). Wanted longer life (vs. 3000 mile on D207s).

Did the wheel removal myself, by the book - less than 1 hour off, and only 30 minutes back on. Saved 2-3 hrs labor ($150+/-). Cycle Gear mounted and balanced the new tires ($55) and did not harm my amber wheels.

Just came back from "scrubbing them in" and WOW, what a great tire. I'd had a bad experience after installing a new rear tire - dropped it leaving the dealership, due to mold release agent on tire - so I wanted to break these in right. Rode on rough concrete several times around my neighborhood, weaving as much as possible. Got out on the road (also concrete) and did it at higher speeds. Finally, came back home on mixed surface asphalt, mostly chip-sealed.

Tires are pretty well scrubbed in after 70 miles. They stick really well already, though probably not as well at Pilot Powers or Metzeler Sportec. I'll give a mileage report down the road...

BTW - it was hot as hell out there today!!!

I took the opportunity to replace the rear with the pilot road when the stock 207 died at about 2300 miles. I went out and scrubbed them in and then proceeded to chase and pass some wanna be on a gsxr. We had enough turns that I had the advantage. His advantage was that he used both lanes and did not worry about sand and rocks on the road. Man I cant believe people have no fear of that stuff. Anyway, I smoked him and the Pilot on the back feels great. A couple thousand more miles and I will toss the front for a matching pilot as well. I will report on wear. but I can already see that the rubber is not balling up on the sides like it did right away on my 207.

I have had EXCELLENT results with the Roads...now I swear by them. Got about 7500 miles on the rear and 9000 miles on the front.

hey there Chris .. sounds like you had the same weekend that I did .... though it took me a little longer, my daughter insisted on helping. She just turned two. Got the MPR's for the same reason that you did .. and they felt awesome from the first. So much better then the OE tires.. Loving the bike even more ....

Can anyone compare the Pilot Road to the Z6? I am on my 2nd Z6 rear. I got almost 5,000 miles out of the first and should get at least that much from the 2nd.

I expect the PR would last longer, but am curios if it has as much grip as the Z6.
