I just picked up my bike from lakeshore harley in libertyville and had the buell pro race kit installed and the 1000 mile check-up done. Two questions I have 1) the bike at idle runs at @1000-1250 rpm's{normal}. When I drive the bike and stop it at a stoplight and put it in neutral it runs at @2000 rpm's. It pulls like a mother and sounds awesome but this idle of hanging @ 2000 rpm's is not normal or is it? Is the chip learning now? When I shut off the bike and start it up it's back to normal 1000-1250 rpm's. I called the dealer back and they said they will rectify it. 2) I purchased a storz steering damper for the bike a month ago and figured since the dealer will install the race kit, pro-plugs, and syn3 oil why not treat myself and have them include the storz steering damper. One problem they said was upon installation of the damper it had serious front end wobble. So they took it off and sent it back to storz as defective. Anyone out there have this problem with the steering dampers on the buells? Otherwise than that, I love the new sound but miss that valve in the canister that gives you that warp speed effect. Thanks for responding....

Idle sounds like it's set just a tad bit high. Warm her up and turn the idle down just a bit.

What Cataract said. Ride a bit and set, then ride again and then double check the setting. You want to set it at 1050 exact. Keep at it until it stays there, it will eventually as long as there are no other problems.
