I bought a nice Alpinestars leather jacket when I first bought my bike and sprayed it down with the water repellent stuff and it always seemed kind of stiff and rigid. Well not anymore. If you get the chance, rub your leathers down with Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather wipes. My first two applications got 'sucked up' by the leather pretty quickly, but the third keeps the leather sort of glossy and softer. Thought this info could help since I always felt like 30% of my jacket was tucked up beneath my armpits!
And on a sidenote, I waxed my helmet which really brought out the paint. Oh yeah, and also washed the liner. Maybe I am a clean freak!

Kow - My Alpinestars was real stiff too. I rub it down with mink oil every so often. It softened it up and helps to get the bug guts off easy as well.

Dragging it on a string behind your bike for a few miles will bring out their natural, um...I hate shiny clean leathers.

I just bought a pair of Buell(Vanson) leather pants from Battlefield HD/Buell. Tried the HD leather treatment, it sucks! Guess I'll try the Meguiars next.
By the way, if any of you are near that store, check it out, I got those pants for 98 bucks, and they have a ton of Buell apparel.

Yes I live in NC, but been on vacation since the Myrtle Beach Rally. Made it up to PA to see the Amish country and made it a point to stop and get a Buell shirt from there, with their logo on the back. Man am I glad I did. They have two full stands of Buell stuff, they even have a Buell lounge. A good size clearence rack also that has Buell stuff, If I were rich, I'd need another closet to put all the stuff I seen there in.
Super nice staff also, I took some pictures of the displays, when I get them developed I'll post. Don't know how far away you are, but if you need some Buell clothing, helmets,jackets,gloves,parts...make a trip. Bring $$$.

Hi Jim, glad to hear some of the dealers stock Buell items. You can't even find a hat at the Greensboro dealer. I did pickup a like new Buell/Vanson red&black jacket for half price off ebay.Perfect fit. Will also try the wipes. Later

Twig, we didn't see ya at the Myrtle beach Rally. Ready to come back this way and break in that leather jacket( all the moving from side to side is what I mean, not on the road!)?

U4euh...Actually I wanted to go, but got sidetracked with my schizophrenic son. Things are looking better. I saw your post for Oak Island. I've been going to Long Beach all of my life. Did you ride to the very end of the beach and check out the point? Beautiful place. I have been itching to ride with you and Rubberdown again. Went on a trip weekend before last with a bunch of Harley riders to NC mountains. They did the speed limit...the riding was not much fun for the Buell. Felt like it was chugging... it just wanted to go for a faster ride.Let's plan a ride. I'll give you and Mike a call.

Rode there at about three minutes past sunset. Got a picture of the Buell with her LED's glowing under the air lid, the bay behind, the orange sky behind, then walked around to the other side and got a picture with the moon. Still trying to get the resizing of pictures down pat so I can post them.
Call Rubberdn also, he recently purchased a BMW cruiser for his commutes to work. Said he is considering selling the other, hope not. But yes let's ride. The 18th I believe that Bubba Blackwell will be in Jacksonville, are you free?

Got some help with the pictures, see if this works or not. The lowest point on Oak Island.

Jim, the 18th will work for me and any other weekend for that matter, just as long as the sun is shining. I left a message, or warning with rubberdown. Maybe Mike got a ticket he's not 'fessing up to. haha. I'll send him an update for the 18th. Glad you made it to the point. Bike looks good, great fishing down there at times.

I don't know if he got a ticket or not, but I did hear the story of his trip back from the Tour de'Georgia. I won't give details, let's just say that if it were me, I'd still be behind bars! I am up for any weekend ride also. J1nance is planning a trip to see Bubba also, see the
c-3 section in the storm fronts thread. Give me a call 910-673-5499.
