Just wanted to say hello.

I picked up a new 2005 XB12Scg the first week of May. Been loving it ever since, riding it whenever it isn't raining. It's rained 14 of the last 16 days around here, got caught in it on Monday on my way home from a BBQ. I've been pretty cranky due to the new bike and crumby weather, man I hate the rain. The weather is picking up for the rest of the week, looks like sun until Sunday for Boston!

Anyways just saying hello!

When I got my M2 back in 2000, I had to wait a month before the dealer could give me the bike (recall issue). It started raining the day I picked it up and didn't stop for almost 2 straight weeks - I rode soaked to the bone on almost every ride. This was before I ever heard of the Badweatherbikers (indeed!).

Welcome to BadWeb Phantom5oh, & congrats on the 12Scg! I got one in black and absolutely love it. My truck now sits with a dead battery covered in spider webs cause I can't bear to drive it. The Buell is just too much fun!
Enjoy your ride.
Fear not, Summer is just around the corner.

Congrats on your new baby.

However I feel you pain. I got my XB last year, I picked her up at the start of my vacation with the intention of spending the entire week terrorizing my area and breaking her in. But instead several hurricanes seemingly shot out of a machinegun kept my new toy and I locked up inside for what felt like months. And the days not hammered by wind and rain where spent cleaning up mountains of hazardous debris from the streets.

The Midwest has their floods.

Cali has its earthquakes and mudslides.

And Florida has Cessna sized mosquitoes, legions of shuffleboard players driving on the wrong side of the road , and storms the size of small continents.

Well the weather has been pretty good for riding the past few days, every spare minutes is spent on the bike.

MadSX, where are you from? Are you going to Laconia?

I didn't know boston harley didn't sell buell any longer, there web site still shows them as a
buell dealer. manchester hd is cool, I was there
for there open house and went for a road test on an xb9r. precision has been great to me as well,
they have treated me with the respect all buell owners deserve, was a little concerned after reading some of the posts here. I'm considering going to loconia on friday the 17th and staying
up there overnight if I can find a room.

Dave, I was in Rhode Island in April and went into Precision to try to talk those guys out of a sling bag (back pack). I couldn't do it! I did find them a friendly bunch. I hope you enjoy your XB9S.

There are a few folks on the web from Rhode Island. I remember a guy from North Providence and a woman from the Providence area with a new XB9R. I am sure they aren't the only ones around.

Xbdave9s, I work in Walpole, MA so Precision is only a 20 minutes drive down I95 for me. I got the XB12Scg on May 2.

Boston HD = Jerks. When I went in asking about Buells in April, they still had the Buell sign out front so I had no idea that they didn't carry them anymore. I walked in and it was pretty crowded so I walked around looking for them myself. When I didn't see any, I went to the front and asked. The jerk just looked at me, then spurted out "Why would you want to waste your money on one of those?! HD dropped the Buell line, they aren't making those pieces of junk anymore. Good luck finding one! If you do, good luck finding someone to service it!" I thought he was joking, so I tried to joke back, and that wasn't well received. Two other salesman came over saying stuff like "What are you some kind of smart ?!" With that I was starting to get attention from the HD crowd so I just walked out. I will never go back!

Anyways, I didn't want to waste a 2 hour trip out to Sheldon's for nothing so I tried to do a deal over the phone and they were giving me silly #'s so I called Joseph @ Precision and he helped me out. They wouldn't budge on price but they were very helpful.

I got the same reception from them when I went in in March. A-Holes! Bought my Blast from them in '03 and was treated right so I thought I'd give them a chance to sell me another. Not anymore, I'll never go back to them for anything. Just Bcause U dont ride what they do U suck!

Har! Did not see your post for a couple days since the weather cleared on June 1st (I've been out riding) ,I went to Sheldon's in March and picked up a XB9sx they dont come down on price much there but I tell you it's a real nice dealership out there, when I got the race kit in may I took out a 12r and picked up my sling bag no problem.
I'm on the north shore so it's an hour and a half ride out there for me ,Boston Harley is 15 mins down the road and I wouldnt even do there for oil,i think you guys are going light on them. in any case nice to see a couple XB's in the area

phantom, sorry to hear about your experience w/boston hd, if it were me that was treated that
way I would have called Buell customer service. bcordb3, when I went to precision in april for the road test they put a plate on an xb12s and told me to be back in around 15-20 mins. then they gave me my sling bag, no sales pitch or pressure to buy. I really hate to think that HD/Buell dealers are going to start dropping Buell and bad mouthing the product. Buell was good enough for them to take peoples money when they sold them so they should stand behind it. I
work for a car dealership and know the manufacturer would not put up with that kind of BS. Well best of luck to all. We should try to organize a gathering.
