Is it common for your front wheel to EASILY get covered w/ brake dust (factory pads) ???

I didn't think I was riding very hard, but after a short run (one hour) this morning I noticed my front wheel is black w/ brake dust.

No biggie, it wipes off easily, just curious.

After only an hour it sounds kinda odd. Are the pads wearing evenly?

my back tire usually accumulates about twice as much brake dust/dirt as my front one, and it usually isn't in the "must clean" state till about 3 or 4 rides

Well, when I say an hour, I went out and "blitzed" a couple of local industrial parks early in the AM.

Did go pretty hard, but the brakes worked smooth and stopped great. No pulsing or chatter and the pads are wearing evenly.

I know the rear will never be a problem because they only get used about once or twice every hundred miles or so !!!

I'm wondering if there's a "better" choice in brake pads (than the stockers).

That's a good assumption, but I'm aware of it from previous experiences and take care NOT to drag the front brake.
