Author Message   Mr_cuell Posted on Sunday, May 29, 2005 - 09:37 pm:        Rode to church this morning, bike fired right up, about a two mile ride, did a couple wheelies, having a good time. After church bike was dead. Clicked once or twice and that was it. Bump started it, wondering what had happened, did another wheelie out of the parking lot, went a quarter mile and it just died again. I tried to start it as I coasted to a stop, but electrically it was totally dead. Tach was stuck at 2500. I searched archives because I'm sure I have read about this, but didn't find it. RTFM and I didn't find a relevant troubleshooting page for "totally dead" other than dead battery. I suppose my alternator just crapped out, any other ideas that might be more simple? I am charging the battery now in the bike, with stator still connected. Sure sounds like stator / voltage regulator to me.
