Dampener is well worth the money - I can't recommend it enough if you ride an XB9SX (or any S for that matter). Jitters are gone and wont be missed. Thanks DaveS for the LSL.

D+D exhaust is crazy loud. Whereas ear plugs were optional before, they are mandatory now. Middle range feels more responsive now - which is where I like to keep it (between 3 and 5 KRPMs). DaveS, thanks again for helping me out.

Finally, the twist - got everything installed at the local Honda motorcycle place because the local HD place didn't have an opening until the 14th of June. The Honda guys were uncertain at first but asked me to send them more Buells after they had finished the job. Both items installed and tested ran 3.5 hours labor.

HOLY S#!T. I CANT BELIEVE YOU PAID THAT MUCH. I PUT MY D&D ON IN 15 MINUTES, AND PUT MY LSL ON IN 10 MINUTES. IF YOU EVER DO ANY MORE SIMPLE MODS TO YOUR BIKE, YOU MIGHT FIND THAT YOU WILL LEARN SOMETHING, AND ENJOY IT MORE IF YOU DO IT YOURSELF. QUIT WASTING MONEY. IF YOU WANT TO FURTHER MOD YOUR BIKE, POST QUESTIONS HERE. THATS WHAT THIS SITE IS FOR. HAVE FUN.

No sense yelling at him : )...

The LSL damper... Is that the one that goes from the front isolator bolt to the mount that needs to be put on the fork?

Damper. Dampener meands something else entirely.

If the damper made that big of an impact, you are masking a suspension issue.

Probably incorrect tire pressure... I don't have any experience with the Scorpions though, so I couldn't even give you a ballpark.

Not everyone keeps the right tools around to do this type of work and in my case, I prefer to leave this type of work to the experts. I do enjoy riding though

I actually run Dunlop D208 ZRs now that I had the rear Scorpion shred on me. I have checked everything mentioned here including:

- Tire pressure
- Suspension set up
- Head bolt toque
- Wheel balance
- Riding position
- Choice of clothing

I consistently observed more sensitivity on the front than I am comfortable with - mainly at speed > 80MPH and when accelerating. I did not make the decision to purchase the steering damper (thank you for the correction, Eeeeek) without much consternation.

What is anyones opinion of the damper that is side mounted and attaches to the right fork tube and the [9R] head unit? Any stress issues for our magnesium (I think that's what it is made of) head unit there?

I DONT LIKE THE STORZ PRODUCT BECUASE IT SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD HIT YOUR KNEE AT TIMES. IT IS REALLY UGLY TOO. I WASNT YELLING AT JOELE, I WAS JUST TRYING TO PERSUEDE HIM INTO HAVING FUN WORKING ON HIS BIKE AND NOT SPENDING A FORTUNE TO HAVE SOMEONE ELSE DO IT. THE TOOLS YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY ARE FAR CHEAPER THAN THE LABOR RATE OF THE DEALER.

You're still yelling ; ).

The storz damper won't hit your knee (unless maybe if you hit something else and are propelled forwards... I just think it's pretty ugly myself.

Not everyone is mechanically inclined or wants to do their own work on their bike. If you can afford to have a shop do it & it gives you peace of mind, I say more power to you. I do what I can on mine but if I think I'm gonna get in over my head I won't hesitate to call upon the experts.

On edit:
When I say experts, I mean Badwebbers first, dealers second.
