Has any one had any luck with the suspension set up suggested for the XB9R on Sportrider.com?

i have two questions.

1) how do those suspension settings differ from what buell suggests?

2) could you please explain why you wouldn't use them Tpoppa?

I just made the final change over lunch to match sportrider.coms suggestions. I think the main thing they tried to do was to get the bike not to stand up so much in the corners under brakeing . I am open to any suggestions.

I will work on the brake thing. I am just a little lost with the stock xb9r.

My xb12R and sv650 race bikes are different stories and I manage just fine in the corners

Okay,

(where's slaughter when you need him?!?)

I think the bikes differ too much to use other people's settings with major success. They can be a starting point but should be considered no more than that.

Maybe you should share a little about your driving style and what you're trying to improve over your current settings.

After having the suspension setup by a track intructor I ended up using:
Front Preload.......: 2 1/2 lines showing
Front Rebound.......: 1 1/2 turns out from all in
front Compression...: 3/4 turns out from all in
Rear Preload........: 6 (1 down from stiffest)
Rear Rebound........: 1 turn out from all in
Rear Compression....: 1 1/4 turn out from all in

I should mention that originally I used front preload 2 lines showing but entering turns was a bit ackward, and generally unable to correct properly. I can't really descibe it but after some people mentioned having better results with a softer preload on the front I softened her up half a ring with great results.

My riding style is no-comfort, all-sport; I don't care for my kidneys as long as that bike feels planted.

This is a Excel file of the aggressive handling settings found here. I also included the settings found in the May/June edition of FUELL.
Hope this helps.
