I'm really digging my SX. What a great bike. The FI is flawless and it shifts great. It carves up the twisties yet it cruises effortlessly on the highway. It draws a crowd wherever I park it. it looks pretty .. reminds me of the first buell i ever saw .. a bright yellow one .. in australia, ridden by a patch-wearer we knew .. it looked like an angry wasp, being ridden by a neanderthal in leather vest .. he took off wheelying down the highway .. it was abt 9 yrs ago, dammit! i guess thats why i own a buell today?!  | ||

Funny you should mention back patch clubs in relation to Buells Paul. I remember at least two S1 White Lightnings owned by HA Nottingham in the late 90's. Both had Death Heads painted on the tanks. Ian Mutch motorcycling writer and HA member was tragically killed riding his White Lightning a few years ago. Seems Buells have at one time or another appealed to the tastes of the outlaw gangs so I see a certain irony when I hear the Cleveland Police Force have taken delivery of a City X and V-rod in full police livery in their efforts to aid safer biking in their county. Mind you I can't recall the last time I saw an Angel wearing an unwashed 'Original' either. Hell (forgive the pun please) they're all clean shaved these days too! Perhaps that explains why policemen and outlaws love Buells - they all use Remmingtons! Rocket | ||

Pa, what you see on the frame is a grip pad by Stomp Design. It gives my knees some grip which at least for me, provides a more comfortable ride since I can relax my legs and grip on the bars. | ||

Does the windscreen provide a significant amount of air protection over the stock one? | ||

Tell us about the rear wheel hugger. Who makes it and most importantly, when you ride in the rain does it actually keep the water off your back? The stock one is pretty useless! I have 2K+ miles on my CityX and just love it. | ||

The windscreen and rear hugger are both from american sportbike. Also got the Corbin from them. The windscreen does provide a little bit of relief from windblast. The hugger works a lot better than the short little stocker. Also have the CF insert that replaces the pasta strainer thing. That helps to keep the crap from flying up when you hit some wet stuff. |
