Milwaukee area data point From www.KBB.com: Trade-In Value (Good Condition) $4490 Trade-in Value is what consumers can expect to receive from a dealer for a trade-in unit assuming an accurate appraisal of condition. This value will likely be less than you would receive from a private party sale because the reselling dealer incurs the cost of safety inspections, reconditioning and other costs of doing business. Trade-in values are based on clean units in good condition, with all original standard equipment. Mileage/condition and additional equipment may have a substantial impact on the value shown above. |

Don't tell me we've lost one to the dark side! Are you buying based on aesthetics or was there something about the FZ6 that swayed you? Just curious. |

I know you've been having probs with your Buell so if an FZ6 will make you happy, all I can say is go for it. I got to the point with my Sporty where I didn't even want to look at it anymore it gave me so many headaches. But in the end it helped me get my XB which so far has been trouble free. My point is, if you don't like what you have, get something you like. Maybe down the road you'll get another Buell or maybe you won't. It doesn't matter. Just get a bike you like & ride! |

Nothing against other makes & models, I'm just pretty passionate about Buell is all. I agree, no sense in riding something you're not into. If you don't mind the legwork, you are almost always going to get a better price if you sell on your own. If you don't mind the drop in price, it is pretty convenient to trade in at a dealer. Shop around and see what different dealers will offer for trade. Hope all goes well for ya. If you're ever in NJ, look us up. |

For almost the same money (about $500 more) you might consider the new Kawasaki Z750S. A little more hp and torque too. Not my particular cup of tea, but I've read nothing but good things about it. (Message edited by tucsonxb9s on May 13, 2005) |

metal,i feel now like you felt about your sportster.i don't want my buell any more and cannot see purchasing one again.it may very well be a isolated incident with mine, but the dealers have me more PO'ed than the bike being in the shop again. With that being said,I am done with it after it is fixed. |

I just bought my wife an '05 FZ6 a couple of weeks ago. It's going to be her touring bike replacing her '03 ZZR1200. The FZ6 is a sweet bike period, but for $6K out-the-door, it's a steal! We also looked at the Z750S pictured above. Here's what swayed me: The valve adjustment interval on the Yamaha is 26K miles, 7.5K on the Kawasaki. She dug the look of the undertail exhaust and I prefer the fit/finish of the Yamaha. I've read every review I could find on both the FZ6 and Z750S and it's nearly a toss-up performance-wise. Infact, they even managed to get a better 1/4 mile time out of the Yamaha. It matches my '04 FJR1300 perfectly (same color). (Message edited by mrvvrroomm on May 13, 2005) |
