Ok...this is my first real experience putting my bike on a dyno. I now have one at my disposal that I will use to keep track of what does what to my XB. I first had my mechanic do a run on my bike bone stock (with the exception of a K&N and de-snorkle) with worn out tires. I then instructed him to install the race pipe, ceramic headers, and ECU WITHOUT the new tires to do another few runs. Unfortunately, he installed the new tires on the runs with the new mods. All numbers are non-corrected SAE numbers. This is the very first run post install of pipe/ecu/tires after letting the bike idle for about 3-5 mins:  This is the second run post install of pipe/ecu/tires (HP Only):  This is the second run post install of pipe/ecu/tires (HP & TQ):  Here are the combined runs before and after installing the pipe/ecu/tires:  I fully expected to loose bottom end. But I did not expect to loose that much top end. I have not reset my TPS. My mechanic said it looks as though I was running a little rich starting at about 6300 rpm. Could this cause the lack in power? Is it time for a Teclusion? Will the difference in circumference between the worn out Dunlop 208's and the brand spanking new Perelli Diablos have an affect on dyno numbers? | ||

race ecm needs learning time. ride it for a week then put it on dyno. | ||

Shop should have known that the ecm needs time to learn and tps needed to be set. That is a little odd. | ||

The TPS has been reset. I'll take it in Saturday for another run, after I put a few hundred miles on. | ||

My X1 also makes more HP on top end with the normal ECM. Nothing to do with learning time. We did a dino with the Race ECM, which I normally use. And we did a dino with my old original ECM that was laying in a box in my garage for over a year. And TPS was reset both times. The rest of the setup was the same, Full Buell Race exhaust and Carbon Force like Air filter. The stock ECM is way to lean to start with but gets better at top and. The race ECM is to lean at top end, above 5500 rpm. The Race Ecm does make it run much nicer though, more torque at low revs and I don’t rev above 5500 regularly. | ||
