i finished my tail conversion saturday.

i just wanted to thank tim smith and tim hanses. for their help over this board.

the quote i read "if you are contemplating doing it, you can" could not have been more true.

everything fit under the rider's seat, just like tim smith's set-up.

took extra time to mark all the tail and turn wires before disconnecting and lengthening, a good idea.

now to get it painted.

this board is great...i would have never considered doing this if it wasnt for the great ideas that are shared here daily.

Glad I could help, and glad to hear you finished it. Hope the parts where what you expected. So are you just going to paint the tail section or are you going to paint the bike a different color completely?

I probably didnt search the archives enough, but about how much did it cost you to complete the conversion? I love the look!

i picked up the subframe, seats, and plastic from somebody on the bwb. i used my 9s signals, tail light, and foot pegs. all i had to buy was wire, some connectors, velcro, zip-ties, 2 bolts for the r passenger pegs (the s has 2 that go all the way through the subframe) and whatever you decide to do for a license plate bracket. brake reservoir mount as well (i used a 1" corner brace, bent out a bit, and mounted to the subframe with a self-tapping screw), you can see where i put it in the picture above. look around though, it didnt take long to find the subframe and parts, using bwb and ebay.

Awsome, thanks guys!
I work at a bike shop here in Vancouver, but have a few friends down at Latus HD in Portland that can get me parts for cost+10.
Still that subframe is looking to be the killer (price wise) out of this whole thing.
Better start saving
