Is the shifter lever on the 12S and R, for that matter, adjustable up or down? Went out yesterday with my new leathers and Violator Boots to break them in for track days and the Braggin' at the Dragon trip, and had a hell of a time getting the toe of the boot under the shifter. I need to raise it just a little. Got a service manual, but I must be looking in the wrong place, or it isn't in there. Thanks.

Yes, it is adjustable. Loosen the lock nuts, one is backwards thread, I can't remember which one though. Then spin the "tube" til you get the desired position. Tighten up the lock nuts and you're done!

I had the same problem when I got my bike.

Very easy to adjust, like Dave said.

(p.s. had to adjust the rear brake pedal too)

You can also adjust it at the gear shift shaft, the top item the rod is adjustable by undoing the locking bolt, and pulling the piece off the shaft and rotating it up (to move the lever nub downward) or down (to move the nub upward). If you rotate it 180°, you end up with reverse or race/GP shifting, IE: press down on the lever to go up the gears and up on the lever to go down through the gears.

Make sure to use locktite - they come loose very easily.

hey Wycked, newbie question:
Why would one want race/GP/reverse shifting?
Is there some advantage to stomping to upshift?
I don't get it. -NadZ

Well a guy with big feet like me can then upshift in hard corners without grinding part of his boots off anyway.
