It's not just location, age, driving record. It's also gender, credit rating (yes) and all the other discounts people can get. With State Farm a good student discount for a guy is 25% (it's only 5% for women since they already have a lower rate than guys...atleast in the under 25 category). If I got married I would get a 33% discount from State Farm. 33% may not be much to some old timer paying $200/yr but when most insurance companies quote me (22yo whos never had anything what so ever go on his record for even half a nanosecond) anywhere from $600-$12,000 (Yes, Progressive will quote me $12k per year on any new liter bike, not that I want one of those...or $5-8k per year on a 600, I definately don't want one of those for the street). Then theres discounts for belonging to certain clubs and also taking safety courses.

I have my truck insured with American Family but they don't have decent rates on motorcycles for me, they told me that they don't count any MSF course for a deduction/discount unless you've taken it within the last year. I told that dumb son of a ***** that's like saying you're not college educated unless you've graduated within the last year. That really pissed me off, sinc ethe MSF course teaches you so much and that they teach you the correct way to ride etc etc. Ugh, I will slap American Family.

Flushing, Michigan - quoted $1,053yr. $500 deduct

I am going to call around tomarrow and then try to contact the seller, hopefully he checks his email daily because the phone number he has listed doesn't work. I am waitin for my credit union to give me the good news also. I am married, have an associates degree in applied science and also in the automotive technical field, I have a clean record. the only discount my agent told me about was the MSF course discount which I haven't taken but would if the discount were great enough. my city is pretty busy so maybe that's why they quoted me more. I am going to call state farm and the farm bureau tomarrow morning to see what kind of prices they tell me.

oh by the way here is the picture of the bike the seller has listed.

Dont use GEICO's website for a quote. Call them directly. The quote I got online was three times higher than when I called them!

Progressive
1068 year
500 deductible
colorado springs, co for a xb9sx
27 years old with one ticket, I figure maybe it is because you can ride all year round here but the weather will be snow then 70 degrees so there is lots of sand on the roads on those 70 degree days (i.e. lots of wrecks)

hell, since we're all quoting our insurance:

state farm, $1000 deductable on each of theft & damage, $1M liability .. $600+change for 12 months .. clean record, 39 yo.

as soon as i stressed the bike was a BUELL & NOT a harley, i think the price went down a bit.

btw .. the xb9 at that price is a damn steal!! get it immediately .. ride it like stink & then bore it out to 3.812" & u get 1148cc that revvs over 9k & does nearly 170mph!!

if u stroke it as well to 3.6" instead of the 3.182", u get death on wheels .. 1348cc & over 171mph & 135hp ...

dunno abt reliability tho .. i'd rather spend on bore & intake/porting & w/ some tweaking of exhaust & fuel ecm/injectors...

$180 yr. with State Farm. No collision but I do have comprehensive for damage/theft. I'm a careful and experienced rider so I figured an accident I'm in most likely will NOT be my fault.
