Just to throw some more pipes into the mix, check out my sound clip of my Special OPS pipe.

http://www.geocities.com/calebvet

My pipe is definitely not as loud as a force pipe. But it shakes my chest when I rev it in my driveway. It is the perfect pipe for me. Great in performance awesome in sound("loud pipes save lives"; ) and best of all it makes me smile. I do however have to wear ear plugs during long distance highway travel(I have had my ears ringing for a couple of days).

Thanks everybody. Now like Jedwele, I think my Buell race can sounds very small. I have "can" envy.

Kevin can turn your race can into the New Loud Drummer $400.

I love the D&D, a little expensive but I just can't see spending $400 bucks to have my stock pipe modded. Just couldn't justify it. But hey the drummer sounds nice but for the extra change the D&D is awesome and if i ever need to change back to my stock for legal reasons its right thurrr in my garage. BTW i noticed the D&D sounds even better with the 12 airbox. I have the 9 airbox and on Yeags xb9s the D&D sounded a little deeper.

So help me out here, a drummer is or is not a better choice than a D&D? I dont have the original can anymore. I had the Harley Dealership I bought the bike from install the race kit and never received it. Can the Buell racing can be modded by drummer? or would I be better off going with a D&D and keeping the Buell racing can in my garage as a backup?

BTW, I live in Nevada, libertarian and not a lot of law enfocement.

The Drummer has the best all around performance, hand downs! It's no secrete!
Kevin can use your race pipe, or you can buy a Drummer straight out, no trade.

The post I've seen on the odie pipe, you lose all
your bottom end and midrange power.
No back presure!!

Look @ all the Dyno charts you can find,
and ask for all the dynos on the products,
and then decide.

The truth shall set you free.

I have never, ever said anything derogative about the Drummer or any other pipe and I suggest you don't either unless you know what you are talking about. I am sponsored here just as the Drummer is. Thanks, Odie......

IMO all the pipes sound good even though I have'nt heard all of them. As long as the motor can breath and not be choked off because of gov. regs. In general they all should sound good. Some louder than others and deeper or higher pitched. Some mufflers produce more or less power at different rpms. Its sort of a compromise. You can't have a pipe that is strongest in the low, mid, and hi rpm at this time. Usually different levels of combos in the ranges.
Figure out what pipe would benefit your taste, riding style and price range.

I personally like the Drummer. There are alot of good pipes! Good luck!

"The post I've seen on the odie pipe, you lose all your bottom end and midrange power."

Hahaa! No loss of bottom -> midrange here. Seat-of-the-pants my 12 still has crazy grunt with the Special OPS, desnorkel and K&N setup. I expect the performance to increase a bit more with the addition of an open airbox and some TFI tuning. Got 'em in hand, just need the time to play. The thing I liked about this pipe before purchase was the smooth curves (from Dec dyno runs), valve is intact and price.

Not looking to start a war, just add some customer feedback on the Special OPS. Odie's a stand-up guy. Thank again, Odie!

I don't own any part of the Drummer enterprise!
I’m just talking about what I’ve seen and tested!
This is a forum, and that’s what it’s for.

Kevin, www.kdfab.com, Drummer, is not responsible
for anything that I post or say.

Show me a pipe that has better overall performance
and I’ll run it.

Send me a pipe, and I’ll test it.

And if it’s not to much trouble, can you post a few dynos.

All though I am neutral in all this, that is absolutely the best advice I've ever heard. I think that should apply to all things, all products.

Norrisperformance, just so you know, in my post i was referring only to the "make an educated decision" part.

I've been a fan of Kevin's from the beginning and agree he makes a fine pipe. The problem is that there are a lot of damn fine pipes on the market. It is impossible to lable one as the ultimate best cause there are just too many varibles to factor in. It's all a preferred taste and a rider really needs to know exactly what he or she is looking for in a pipe before taking the plunge. Surely you can understand this? You seem like an intelligent guy who's very passionate & loyal about the things he believes in (i.e. Drummer) but one size does not fit all. The best test for all pipes is time.

Someone that has connections needs to get a donation of one pipe from each of the manufacturers and do dyno runs on all of them with all the same variables (as much as possible). This should end the war of wars as to who has the "best" pipe when it comes to a performance enhancement. Additionally I would not think anyone making aftermarket mufflers for our bikes would object to the donation because they would want to prove theirs had the most performance gain. Also, I am sure everyone is in agreement that this would have to be done by and independent tester and one that actually knows what they hell they are doing with a dyno. Seat of the pants dyno's don't count either ; ) So Odie are you up for a donation to an independent tester? Also Mike do you think you could get kdfab to donate a pipe? I believe there are about 3 or 4 other pipes for our bikes. Anyone want to volunteer to "head" this project up? John

Good luck getting D&D to donate a pipe or even getting Johnny at Force to do the same. Then theres Latus,I don't think the dealership will give one up either.Thats gonna be a tough one to do but a neat idea.
