My '03 says every 2500 miles. My '04 now says 5000 miles. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm going to keep with the 2500 but I thought this was mighty strange.

Yes, they changed the intervals on all Buells and HDs in 04.
I still think that you should drop the oil every 2500 miles or sooner.

I have to disagree with the 2500 miles unless you are really HARD on the oil. Some synthetics dont show any appreciable loss of viscosity for over 10,000. A good petroleum based oil will easily get you to 5,000 with proper filtration on a well tuned engine. The key here is the "other factors" such as racing, cold or heat and improper tune (rich) that could strip the coating off of the cylinder walls. BUT, oil is cheap, engines aint...

There's no way I am getting mine serviced every 2500 miles.
500 is much more sensible.
I have done 1000 miles in the last 3 weeks which would mean I would need to get it serviced every couple of months in the summer.
I think is you hardly do any mileage every 2500 is okay but if you do a lot every 5000 miles is fine.

Norrie.
