Was checking my rotor today and it seems I might have some hot spots on it. Was wondering if this is a warranty item or not?

Dealer covered mine under warranty @ 2900 miles.
Rotor, pads, new bolts, washed and detailed the bike.

Mine was covered at 17,000 miles at 11 months. There was a thread that said the brake dust accumulates and appears to warp. Only needs a good cleaning behind the bolts.

Um... so are you saying that it is just dust causing this?
I also have this problem (1500 miles here) so should I go in and have it warranted out?

Just take in to the dealer for and it should be covered under the original purchase warranty. My warranty was 12 months unlimited mileage. I may be mistaken, but I think the 04-05's are for 3 years for the original buyer and may be transferrable.

"There was a thread that said the brake dust accumulates and appears to warp. Only needs a good cleaning behind the bolts."

Do you mean the bolts that hold the rotor to the wheel?

I'd say not a warranty item if the item is working properly. I know many that look like that and there are no problems.

Kaese: Factory warranty is 2 years, unlimited mileage. One year on the '03 and prior models.

That is the way I understood it. When warranty replaced mine, they claimed it was just barely out of tolorance.

My bike vibrated when braking.
They said it was due to aggressive use.
But covered it anyway, said it was a one time deal.

They claimed mine was just barely out of tolerance also.
