XB, since you're probably the best test case on the whole board, are you running Mobil 1 15W-50 auto oil or Mobil 1 20W-50 V-twin MC oil?

Thanks,
Hugh

Whodom,he had his engine replaced at 30,000 miles so his mileage is a little misleading when talking about the engine.

I have close to about the same (30g's) on the engine, and I use the same 15-50 red cap Mobil 1 in the engine and primary. No complaints!

Thepup- I forgot about his engine change; thanks for reminding me.

Vegas- Does that make you the "XB mileage king" on the original engine? If so, that's a pretty good testimonial for redcap.

Whodom,

An XB in Ohio, had 44112(Approx) from what I recall, on original engine, before being traded in for a New Street Rod. Just as I was approaching 42k.

Not sure Hugh. I have no issues at all with the oil. Honestly I have been through the "usual XB illnesses" such as the speed sensor, the leaking rockerbox, etc. Other than plugs, oil and filter that is about all I have had to do. Now, keep in mind that I try to change the engine oil and filter and primary every 2500-3000 miles
Thanks!
Nick

Exactly, so any claims of the mileage are more than just a little misleading. Hell someone could replace motors till they are blue in the face & then brag about the ultra high mileage they have on their bike.

You want high mileage, talk to someone like Tramp who has over 200,000 on his S2 & the motor has never been replaced.

Hello, new to the boards and I thought I'd chime in.

I bought this XB9R 2 months ago and its closing in on 46k miles. The guys (As in parts, service, sales, and finance) at the dealership told me is that the previous owner, who is a 70 y/o man, had it serviced religiously. I love this bike and it runs fantastically!

How many times was it rebuilt??

Butch,

Congrates on the New Used Bike. I knew the previous owner a little bit. Hope you enjoy it.
