This is a two part question. #1) I recently purchased a zero gravity sport touring windscreen in the stock amber color only available through zero gravity and not a distributor [Dist. only have the yellow color]. My question is that through reading on the xb forum a lot of people have been experiencing a melting of the gage cluster on the double bubble version. Is this indicative as well for the sport touring screen? Anyone have that problem w/sport touring screen? Does the color make a difference?
#2) I am looking at purchasing a steering damper. The ones that I have researched on the net have been far from few available for an 04xb12r firebolt. Storz was one manufacturer with no modifications made to the fairing and basic installation seems easy. Rich from innovative motorcycle research told me that it was not a quality unit and that active damping is not preferred such as in the scotts or hyperpro units. He stated that it actually doesn't do a good job and to stick with the non- active damping type. This apparently does a better job on the buell race bikes that he builds. Anyone know of a manufacturer or product that is quality, fit is unobtrusive, and is of average cost? Your advice is appreciated. Thanks, the new guy!

I contacted ZG directly with the same question about the st screen and they said they have only had problems with the db. You should be fine with your amber st. As far as dampers go, can't help you there......good luck.

I have a damper from Innovative Motorcycle Research. It's neatly tucked in front of the lower tree. Seems to work well. The damper body is Hypropro.

dcmortalcoil - do you have any pictures of the installation of the damper? I have one and can not seem to get it setup correctly. The upper bracket seems to interfere with the lower triple tree and also the wiring harness seems to be in the way.
