I am hoping someone can help me. This weekend I sat on an XB9S with the Crossroads bars. I loved the feel of them. I called American Sport Bike but they said I had to drop the forks to install them. So I have a few questions...1) Is it really necessary to drop the forks to install them? 2) After they are installed do you raise the forks back to the stock height? 3) How difficult is this? Thanks!

yes it makes life tons easier to lower the forks in the tree until the top is flush, then yes you do return them when everything is tightened down. To doubt what Mr. Lighton at American Sport Bike says about an install, could very much make more work for yourself. He is very much a Bueller and enjoys the products he sells: ) As long as you have a way to suspend the front off the ground the lowering of the forks is easy.

Al gives great advice. That said, I didn't have to lower mine.
