I removed my passenger pegs and brackets on my cityx and i was wondering if the passenger pegs can be used as the main pegs...has anyone done this??? looks like you can't use the spring that is used on the main pegs so i was going to tack weld the pegs in place...any thoughts....

I think it could get ugly if they broke...

Why do you need to do that? Are the passenger pegs the "low" pegs? If so, they can be bought for very little cake...

do you really need the springs? even if you take out the clicker mechanism, gravity will keep them in place when you need to put your feet on 'em. and if you start draggin' 'em, your feet won't (shouldn't) come off, and they'll drop back into position when you straighten out.

i think. unless i'm missing something.

I wouldn't get rid of the passenger brackets... they're the only thing preventing the back half of the bike from getting messed up if you ever lay it down...

Eddie,
I used the pass. pegs without welding them. I fell over and used them for quite a while, when my replacements came in my wife took them and put them on her "R". They work fine. I'm going to take them along on long rides.. just in case.

While it's tempting to remove them they do provide protection and also a tie down location for luggage, etc.
