So when your bikes are idling does the needle stay steady at whatever the idle speed is? Mine seems to flutter between just a hair below 1K rpm and a little above 1K rpm. I've got a XB12R.

Mine does that too.

How many miles?

Could it be different weather temps? I am asking for my own info. I adjusted mine to 1050, but when it got warmed up it went to 1200ish. It was maxed out on the adjustment by the air intake. If it went to 1200 and I was stopped(that was pretty much the only time it did that) I could hold that brake and release the clutch a little and it would go back down and stay there. So, I adjusted it back to 1000 and it is pretty steady. Oh 2003 9R. I know this does not answer YOUR question but hopefully someone can add some insite to my simular problem.

It bounces. I guess it's the way it's designed.

Mine bounces also. Makes it sound kinda cool I think. Just typical HD engine.

I also notice when my bike gets really warm the idle like to get up to about 1200 rpm. Doesn't hang or anything. I've adjusted it like crazy, but it just does that. Oh well, doesn't hurt anything.

It's typical for idle to vary up and down a little, so don't worry about it. Also, idle should be adjusted when the engine is warmed up.

Your running a FI engine so the motor is constantly adjusting the fuel flow unlike a carb. As long as your midline of that bounce is atleast 1050 your good. If the midline is below that, then your idle is too low.
