You used em?
You like em?
You hate em?
How do they compare to Sport Tecs?

I have em, used em, and yes I like em. I have never tried the Sportec tires. The pilot powers are great tires. There is another thread about these tires you could read. Everyone is going to have their own opinion about what tires they like. I had the stock Dunlops on my XB9S and switched after 3000 miles to Pilot Powers. I would do it again.

Pilots are not Sportec's.

It is Pirelli and Metzler that are made with similiar construction and both made in Germany.

I also swapped my D207s for Pilot Power after 3k miles. The Michelins have eliminated:
1) all tendency to stand up when trail braking
2) front/rear end drifts for no reason whatsoever
3) will-it-won't-it sensation when turning in.

I hear Diablos are pretty good for the street but I've never tried 'em.

There was a German magazine article posted in the past (website in German) that reviewed the most common sport tires on the xb9r as a means of correcting handling woes (standing up during trail braking from what I could gather, and also instability on bumps or grooves). German does not translate well so it's kind of hard to interpret, but what I got out of it is that Diablos, Avon 49/50?,Pilot Sports, M1 Sportecs, and to a lesser degree Continentals and even 208s all pretty much cured the standup issue and some of the stability issues as well.

My personal experience is that the M1 is very good and the Diablo Corsa is a great tire. The only others I've tried are the stock 207 which stunk in my opinion except for the traction part. I hear the standard Diablo is very good, but I wanted a little more track oriented tire.

I have heard very good things about Pilot Powers, and a couple bad about predictability on a slide, but I'm waiting to hear my buddy's long term impression.

What I really am curious about is the newer Avon. The German mag rated them a best buy from what I could tell, performing as well as the rest, but lasting longer and with a cheaper price.
