I'd like to have tech info for a problem I have with XB9R stock ecm

I did stage 1 head work with little raised compression, custom exhaust system with little bore size(from an italian exhaust company) open airbox with K&N filter, xb12 airbox and power commander with O2 hi perf sensor. Bike runs really great, no dyno but compared with others XB9 gave me satisfaction, but there is a little problem during deceleration before and after mods: when I close throttle engine revs down normally (with some pops) from limiter to 3000 then slows in rpm dropping and starts stumbling a little. If I cruise in 2000-3000 rpm range it's like throttle doesn't completely close. I did a search on badweb and I found 3 causes: TPS, idle too high, intake leak. Idle is set to 1000 rpms, no intake leaks (I followed a posted method with WD40 around intake mainfold while engine running at idle) and had TPS reset with digital technician. Dealer connected computer to bike but told me he can't see ecm readings (!), he only switched on key but not engine, pressed some buttons on his computer and said "bike is OK"...
After reset it seems to be even slightly worse and i don't know what to do.
Everything else is ok, bike still runs great and has no other symptoms something is going wrong, if I ride hard it's not noticeable, I'm just getting mad!
Any opinion about what to do? another tps reset, injectors cleaning, intake remove for better leaks check, ecm change, not to ride below 3500...?

Aside from the stumbling it does sound like the idle is a little high. I'd turn that down a tad.

When it comes to the stumbling... Maybe a tad lean?

How did you tune the Power Commander? By feel or custom map on Dyno to get air/fuel reading?

I am going to suggest just the opposite of M1, I am going to suggest bumping your idle up to 1050-1150 since that is the stock idle adjustmet per the manual. I am suggesting this because it is the way mine would react when the idle was too low. I would also suggest finding another shop that knows how to operate the Digital Technician for a TPS reset...If it wasn't for my left hand only typing right now I would quote the full procedure but here is where it sounds like he screwed up:

Could be too low... I suppose I've never had mine too low, but I know the idle hangs a bit when it's too high. Luckily it's easy to try both though : ).

The instructions I was given was to set the idle at 1050 when they reset the TPS on my XB9R with RACE ECM. Manual says 1050-1150, I would raise the idle and see what happens, its free. I did a few mods and noticed the bike runs better through out the entire RPM range, BUT if there was an RPM range that was effected I would have to say off idle to 2500rpm, But 4000 to 7500 rpm is like a freight train now...

did you calibrate the pc3 throttle movement ?
mapping in the no go aeria ?

Power Commander has a decel feature that can be set to eliminate the popping
at closed throttle. If you notice, you can keep the throttle open just a bit, and it
goes away. It’s a common problem with efi bikes. At closed throttle there’s not
enough fuel causing a lean condition.

I’d find someone who knows the Power Commander well, to set it up for you.

Thanks everybody for answers!

Pc map was made with A/F meter gauge and data recording, I was helped by a friend who does this for job in rally cars.
Pc throttle move has been calibrated
Now I'll try raising idle but still the same.
Norris, this could be right but I have pcII, maybe it's too old to have this kind of feature.
thanks everybody, now here is 8 pm so I'll try setting idle differently and post results tomorrow.

TPS reset with scanalyzer from another dealer, idle set to 1050 and now it seems really better, thanks again
