I did a search but didn't find squat. Basically just wondering if the xb's valves have always sounded noise and i am just noticing them or do i need an adjustment. Anybody else notice your valves making noise.

What is this valve adjustment thing you speak of; ) We use hydraulic tappets that don't need adjustments.
You hear more of the valvetrain noise because most of it isn't hidden behind a water jacket like on a water cooled bike.

ok, i just didn't know if it was because i just didn't hear it before when i had my exhaust opened up or what. as far as the adjustment is concerned i just figured they were adjusted the same way as any other valves. (feeler guage and some patience.)

I used to ride 2-strokes until I got my BSA. I couldn't believe how much valve noise I heard in those aluminum heads. Some things never change.

I was kind of worried about the noise myself but then my dad told me when he was young and had a Triumph, he bought new, that was really noisy and he would wear a helmet to reduce the noise. I just need to get a louder exhaust. I guess this is also one of the disadvantages to having push rods.

The valves will be a bit louder when you first start the bike up. Should quiet down a bit as you bike warms.

Yes, air cooled twins make noise. Listen to a Duc some time. The clutch alone is a real treat.
