Rr_eaters
dynos and his post are MIA, so I figured
I would still try and add my two cents
concerning his ???s

Did you run the bike around 3000 on the
dyno for few minutes and then shut the bike
off and run again. This method worked to
dial in the tfi for me. The ecm needs to relearn.

If you did use this method, then I'd say you
don't need the tfi.
The only thing pot one is supposed to do is
help on idle and cruise. But I did notice
a very very little increase at wot.
Pot 4 set that low should have very little
affect on the 02 sensor. I talked to George
@ dobeck this morning he said to give him
a call. George said we should be running an
a/f mixture under 13.

The new Drummer 12 flows better and needs
more fuel compared to the older one.
My settings with the new Drummer and
race ecm 5, 7.5, 6, 8.25

I'm now testing the SS 12 Drummer and it needs
even more fuel. 5, 8.5, 7, 8.25
I'm still setting the SS, be back on the dyno
Tuesday.

I plotted my dynos by hand over Rr_eaters
and here they are.

Mike,

Do you think you can get some dyno pulls with the stock ecm and TFI Drummer combo?

Isn't there a place in the KV for Dyno's?

I only mention it because it may be better to post them there and link them here... That way everyone is led to the rest of them and can look for themselves. If there's no such place please dis-regard : ).

I didn't mean any offense... It's just that I seem to remember there's a "dyno room" type of place in the KV, and with all the recent dyno's posted, I'm thinking they should really be there with links posted here so they're all in one place...

Just a thought...

There is a couple guys running the new 12 Drummer,
stock ecm, and tfi.
I'll see if Kevin can get some info from them.

BadS1, Mike missed a comma there. He meant the new 12 Drummer (the one you need to get- lol) and not a new 12 stock ECM.

I'm not being an or anything, but, I wouldn't trust the first dyno chart posted at all.
They aren't the same bike or the same dyno.
If I wanted I could show a dyno run that puts my bike at around 60 HP, ride down the street to another shop and pull over 80 HP.
To add to the confusion, I could hand lay a graph over one and smooth out the curve to look nice over the same graph that looks rough, both coming from the same dyno.
IMHO this is not good information.

Well Glitch, I'm not being an a33 either, but somewhere down the line these people have trusted someone's dyno runs or no products would ever be confirmed to make a difference...So I'm asking who has the magic dyno with the magic touch to operate it???????? That's who I want to do my runs then....

I'm just sayin' to compare dyno runs they ought to be at least done on the same dyno, and not a dyno, and photoshop.
That's all.
I'm not disputing the Drummer, you, or ya'll's reputation. Only the data at the top of this page, and how it's presented.
I know ya'll got lots of dyno runs and data that's much better than a photoshop comparison that show more the skill of the photoshopper rather than the accuracy of the data.
That's all.
Hell, I've got a lot of respect for you and Brian.
Just a fellow HillBilly not wanting you to be misrepresented by a poor photoshop job.

Mike is doing all my dyno runs on the new 12 and the stainless version, so I have to give him credit for using his equipment and funding the whole bit for just a new stainless muffler.....
After today I'm not getting involved in the arguments cause it's just silly....If you guy's need my help or input, you have my e-mail address, I'd be happy to help no matter what your mods are, so if you like the Drummer then you have the dyno runs to see how it performs, never hid anything from any of you guys, all dyno's are as fair as they could be made, after today I'll have some more runs on the stainless version for the 12 so I'll let you see when I get them....

Have a Good Day...

I am kind of curious why you would take THAT dyno as a comparison though. the bike in THAT particular dyno is quite obviously not tuned correctly. There's a huge hole down low where the bike goes very rich.

Rr_eaters posted that dyno, I didn't
choose it. and I was trying to help with
the tfi ??? also. Since, in my opinion
the Drummer has been proven to be hands down
the best pipe for an XB, I will not be making
comparisons to the D&D anymore. I’ll let
someone else carry the flame.

I just like spreading good news about
better performance for the XB,
and this is good news!

I hear you there Mike, and even agree...

I understand that RR-Eater posted the dyno, but I was just curious what the point was in comparing an ill-tuned D&D to a well tuned Drummer. Maybe you weren't comparing as such, but that's what it looks like.

One more thing...

It looks pretty obvious that RR-Eater's D&D is making a good bit more torque at 4500... Why then, is the overlay that you made of the Drummer making the same HP at that RPM? Isn't that impossible?

Please don't get me wrong... I'm all about good things for Buell, and I think the Drummer is one of those things : ). Maybe I (like many here at the BadWeb) am just VERY picky when it comes to advertisement and how it relates to my wallet : ).

Lay it out or plot it for yourself.
And let me know what you find or post it.
You have both dynos.

I will be staying
out of it, from here on out.

I just connected the dots.

Folks I think what Glitch is saying is that it would be better for Mike/Norriserformance to just post the actual dynosheet from the Stainless Drummer rather then do a handplot comparison. For someone just looking at the thread and not knowing any history they might just stright up disregard the hand plot.

I`m sure the drummer is a good exhaust system, as well as others D&D ya can`t take nothing away from it or the Force system once you get it tweaked. They are all GooD just pick which ever turns your Crank and ride...I hate seeing all this stuff on the drummer like its the only can out there. its not, I have the Latus, D&D,Drummer, Buell race last but not least the Force System etc. they are all GooD!! Get on it and Ride that Sucker...!Just because the drummer is the only sponsored pipe on BAdweather`s don`t make it the only pipe out there..! just my .04 cents

Thanks Wycked, somehow what I was thinkin' wasn't makin' it out of the keyboard.
I knew it'd ruffle feathers to say something that might be construed as negative towards the Drummer, but I still thought it was worth while to speak up.

Chill Hogs. Ya gotta read between the lines a bit.

There isn't a "best" for anything. Whenever someome says "best", it's for his specific application. The best pipe doesn't exist. Every pipe is trade off. Pick what you want (low, mid, high or a trade off between those).

(to all),
I think the Drummer is the best pipe for me because it delivers what I want better than any other can. I believe that is what Mike meant (correct me if I'm wrong Mike).

Now I like the comparisons to the D&D. I mean, if you think your product has balls you don't compare it the low end products out there. I see it as a compliment to D&D. Think about it.

[rant]
Now if you all can stop arguing and fighting like headless chicken and separate the weed from the chaff ... maybe you can see some good in what these guys are doing in their free time.

Personally I very much appreciate what Kds1, Norrisperformance and Jerseyguy are doing.

It would be a mistake to offer as fair evidence that handcrafted dyno plot comparison of two different bikes, in two different states of tune, on two different days, on two different dynos, by two different operators. Mike knows this. He's just a bit enthused and prefers the type of performance provided by the Drummer over that of the D&D.

The scale shown for the torque is also very small and thus deceptive at first glance which is why the difference does not show up in the HP version of the same dyno plot comparison. The comparison is still bogus in my opinion.

There is one simple truth in exhaust tuning. There is no free lunch. With a constant geometry exhaust tract it is not possible to achieve optimum performance across the entire operational rev range of the engine.

For the Buells, a decision must be made to either sacrifice optimum mid-range in favor of optimum low and high end, or vise versa and for other similar scenarios in between (race pipe... good up high, poor down low in rev range). It is just not possible to design a constant geometry exhaust tract that will perform optimally at all engine speeds, period.

Do you agree Mike?

Drummer=optimum low and top end

D&D=optimum mid-range

Choose the flavor you prefer.

Didn't we already agree on that once, or was it twice?
