If I wasn't so Broke and it wasn't so far from where I live I would purchase this XB9R that just went for sale on eBay today. I thought I would pass it along to the Bad Web users so I know it will find a good home.

I would be very leary on this one. Being from Michigan, I never recall the foliage in all of the pictures being in my backyard (says item is in Ohio). Looks like a Florida plate on the trailer. If it was for real I would buy it right now and make $3000 right away.........

I wrote to them saying I would buy it now just to see what kind of scam they are trying to pull. First thing I will ask is that they fax me a copy of the registration. That should be funny.

OTOH, the guy's feedback looks legit (positive & motorcycle-related), and you don't have to put down a deposit. Even if it is a scam, it doesn't look like you could get screwed unless you give out info you shouldn't.

Isn't that a New Jersey tag on the trailer? But wait, are those plants suppose to be in warmer tropical areas? Why would you need a sprinkler system in your backyard if you lived in OHIO? (notice it by the tire in a lower picture)

"the guy's feedback looks legit "

No feedback for several months, nothing from this year, could easily be a hacked/stolen ebay identity. Start an auction, pre-approved bidder only to collect contact info, contact bidders after the auction ends to say the first bidder backed out and would they like a chance to buy it at 3% off to avoid relisting fees. Collect three or four or ten payments and disappear leaving the person who's account was hacked to answer for it.

It could be legitimate, or not, guess we'll have to wait and see. I tried searching some of the seller's past auctions and purchases and came up empty, so no way to know his actual purchase/sales history to know if he's sold other bikes or not. The $20 opening bid with no reserve is suspicious though. But for me I think I'd rather take my $20 to the casino and take my chances there. YMMV.

SCAM
These types of bike of motorcycle auctions were prevalent a few months back. They can usually be spotted by the unusual condition of having to be "pre-approved to bid". When you contact the seller he will ask if you have cash ready to buy the bike, etc.
Definitely a SCAM

I agree. I paid more than that ($4500) for my scuffed up XB9R with more miles and I got that off ebay as well.

I bought my 03' XB9R 2050mi scratches on exhaust for $4550, no problems. I didn't pay for it until I drove out of state to pick it up. Like I said before if I lived closer I would be interested because then I wouldn't pay until I went to pick it up to make sure it's legit.

I turned in one like this to ebay a couple of months ago.

I ran across the pictures they were using from cycletrader.com or one of the other online sites. The reason it caught my eye initially was the bike was supposedly about 1-1/2 hours away from where I live. I sent ebay the link to the legit ad and they canceled the scam.

Shipping cost $10-$15? Wow. Hey, get the Honda, too.

Personally, I think it is a scam but who knows? Maybe a po'ed ex-wife selling the hubby's toys! (urban legend)

Or, another person lost their job and needs some cash. I would sell my house before I would sell my Buell if I was hard up for cash. Of course that would be after I sold my Honda's. They say that their also selling a Honda but I didn't see it listed unless someone else did a buy it now on the Honda. The last pic with the Honda looks like there's an R1 behind it. I think it would be hard to find a pic on cycle trader with both the Buell and the Honda together.

The give away is at the very end. His CBR is going for 3000$. Typical european currency notation. Not too common in Ohio, I think. Although they do call soda "pop"....

Good point about the dollar sign at the end. I emailed the seller before making this post asking if the title is clear and haven't received a response yet and that I wanted to be added as an approved buyer but haven't received a reply.

The foliage, possible stucco siding, pyramid chase top on the fireplace and the brick looks way to Southwestern for me. All of which remind me of an older neighborhood in California.

Whoops, I missed the mold on the lawn building. That might be a strong indicator of a Southeastern State.

Oh well, can't wait to see how this one turns out.

Looks like Florida to me, and I've lived here my whole life. The plate looks like a Florida plate, but it's hard to tell. The grass looks like normal Florida crappy grass, and that little palm tree/bush you see in the background is everywhere. I have 4 of them in my backyard.

Regardless, it's a scam. They ask for you to Western Union them the money. You should never send money via Western Union to anyone you don't know. Once they pickup the money, they're gone.

Hell no, I will always keep a motorcycle. I can rent a shack or something. I have a few motorcycles now and it's taken to much time and work to be able to afford them. Now I feel if I was to sell off all my motorcycles it would be too hard to replace even one. I guess I've become a little obsessive.
