ok here's the deal, all stock 12s no mods....cruising at 3 grand any gear...just a strange azz noise almost like a rapping,sounds like maybe exhaust?..it has 2500 miles on it..could it be the valve in the muff?..the bike runs perfect.anybody else ever heard this?? mike | ||

Sounds like normal engine noise to me. Put a new muffler on it and drown it out  | ||

was thinkin the same thing gear put a jardine on it lose my hearing all will be good...lol | ||

I'd check the primary chain tension to be sure... | ||

i checked that a couple of weeks ago m1 appeared to be fine i'll check again though thanks | ||

Can you get it to replicate the sound while sitting? Maybe try holding the throttle at 3 grand to see if a piece of the bike is loose. (like a chin fairing, left side air scoop, or even something more drastic like... oh I don't know...you get the idea.) | ||

??? fwiw- check the horn mount - mine was rattling like crazy at 3000 - just had to tighten the bolt and put a little bit of foam between the horn and the mag fairing. | ||

well i went over it pretty well today,checked almost everything that is bolted on,even the horn. everything seems fine. so i figured while i was messin around i would de-snorkel it and shorten up the front turn signals. so i did get something accomplished mike | ||
