i have had for 2 years now a 9r that i love.. now where to start making more power without breaking the bank? i have seen all the posts about k&n, de-snorkel, seen the dynographs etc..

Real question- is the american sportbike part as good as say a fast or competitors also will i pick my supposedly lost lowend back up tuning the efi with a techlusion box on a jardine can?

I think with as free breathing that pipe is, there's not much you can do... The TFI or other enrichening option will help, but that pipe realizes its power up top... I don't like the Jardine.

As far as intake, couldn't tell ya... Never ran any of em.

ok fair enough so the reason for the midrange drop is too little backpressure i will assume, understandable.
where shall i start though i hear the drummer is the one to have.. is there a sound file for it?
also why is a desnorkeling a good thing?

There are quite a few people here that have gone that route (hacked or modified their airbox to only leave enough to seal the filter). Some even vent the outer airbox.

I've got one of those kits on order from American Sport Bike. I'm also building a servo eliminator plug so I can pull the servo cable out without tripping the ECM (for my 12R) - since that's where the motor lives.

If you don't have the updated airbox cover with the inverted nipple, then I'd definitely get the American Sport Bike kit. That inverted nipple is proven to increase air flow - and if you have to order something, pick the one that saves you more work (hacking open the new airbox).

I made my own pipe hack and love it... I think if you don't have the skills, order the drummer. At least the power is flat. I've heard a friends drummer and it's great. More of a growl than bass or volume...
