Well Today I went take the bike out for a ride , and noticed a small oil puddle. It turns out to be one of the oil lines from the cooler , right when it goes into the engine is leaking. I was tempted to try to fix it myself ,but since its still under warr. I better let them do it.

Just snug it up should be fine.

Mine did the same thing about the same miles. Took mine to the shop and they fixed it under warranty. My luck I would have broken the bolt off while trying to snug them up!

I had the same problem at 750 miles. Both lines going into the oil cooler were leaking. Snugged them up and have'nt had a problem since.

Yup - early model 12's had this problem - the engines were being built and the lines hand tightened. They assumed the assembly line would tighten it, and the assembly line assumed the engine builders would have tightened it.

It affected the early 04's (both R and S) - definitely the 12's - haven't heard of any 9's that had it.

If you have the tools just tighten it up.

Yea mine is a early model 04xb12s. Mine is leaking right were it goes into the engine and has a bolt with a elbow and then the oil line to the cooler. Should I take the oil line off and then will I be able to use a wrench on the elbow bolt (sorry don't know the correct term).

Whats the best way to get to the bolt going to the engine by the oil sensor? The headers are in the way and also the oil filter and lower filter, Can I get to it by just removing oil filter and lower fairing?
