Not sure If I should be worried or not...
Scenario: I have a 2004 XB12S I weigh in at 260#, it has 1800 miles on it. My wife has a 2005 XB9R she weighs 155# (don't tell her I posted that), her bike has 350 miles on it. We'll take the same ride, she'll be mellow (break-in) and I'll ride like a lunatic. We'll stop my fan will always run, hers will only run occasionally and never as long as mine. The temps are in the low 60's.
Does this sound alright to you guys?

I wouldn't worry about it.
I was riding pretty hard yesterday and when we would stop, my fan didn't come on at all. Later on my fan came on after a short run up the mountain, and didn't turn off until everyone else's had shut off.
If your fan is bad or the temp sensor is bad, you'll get an engine light, trouble code.

I rode 2 up about 60 miles at one point. First thing I realized is that the bike runs warmer.

I just purchased a Right Side Air Scoop for my XB9S. So far, this addition has kept the fan from coming on at the end of all my rides.

A qualified success. I purchased from Trojan Products in England.
