No drama, did it myself putting the bike in the house. Need a right side peg, dealer says it'll take 10 days. Not good. Any ideas where I might find a peg, or a set? TIA

I bet DaveS could send you out a sent and you would have it in less than 10 days. I don't know what he does and does not stock though.

I dont know for certain but, wont the pillion peg fit on there, that will get you riding, No prob if you are on the 'R' , but the 'S' has lower pegs, if so then change both.

I have tried the local competition shop. Going to try to get over there next week and see if we can't get generic pegs to fit. But in the meantime, if I can get one next week, I'll order it. For me now, it is a matter of curiosity.

So I am suffering riding the harley around. Tell ya what, way different ride. Almost laid it down doing a Buell type maneuver in a roundabout.
Oh well.

Stretchman,

Use your passenger peg till you get a new one. I did it on my bike (XB9S Low) and it worked O.K. Daves had one to me in 7 days and that included the New Years weekend. Be very careful taking off the passenger peg, there are a few little parts to watch out for when you take it off. (ball-bearing, spring and a thin plate) Don't try to use any of this stuff when you put it in the riders peg mount. Oh, and the peg will want to fold up when you lift your foot from the ground past it so be careful.

I also ordered a peg from the dealer that sold me the bike, the first one they got in was 2 week of waiting and the wrong one. I'm still waiting on the right one.

Talked to a guy at the dealership who works in parts, instead of the girl who just checked the computer. He found me a peg, in the rack. So I am squared away.

On a side note: DaveS got back to me in record time, and was ready to ship the peg out tomorrow. That is something else. If I ever need to order anything again I will ask him first.

All I have to do now is install it. Any issues there?

I got some bitchin' billet pegs off ebay from an outfit called Billet 4 Race. They probably cost half as much as factory pegs and are made in the US. It's top quality stuff and the guy who makes them will go the extra mile to make sure your satisfied.

Why would you want to replace a peg that failed with the same one anyway?

Make sure to put some duct tape where the spring hits the frame while installing the new peg.
This will keep you from scratching it.

Stretchman, next time you need a part try Eddie Del Toro in parts at Pompano H-D. He is a good guy and motorcycle enthusiast and probably has the part you need, always did for me.

Got one at the dealer. Called first, then went there in person to Peterson's and talked to parts. They found one for me and it was on the counter when I walked in. Still haven't had time to install it. Oh well, gotta make the bread to pay for it somehow.

Thanks anyway for all the help.
